Previously available at Century Square and Takashimaya, Taiwanese bubble tea specialist Xing Fu Tang will be opening at Compass One by the end of this month. The store will be located at the basement level, between Guardian and Starhub.

This increases the number of bubble tea stores in Sengkang Central to 5, which includes Liho Tea, Gong Cha, Koi, and Cup Walker.

Xing Fu Tang is one of the most popular bubble tea chains in Taiwan, having opened an empire of 60 outlets domestically and 30 joints overseas in a span of two years.

Their popularity is well-deserved, considering the extra steps they take to prepare this sweet cup of goodness. Stir-fried in brown sugar, their chewy pearls effuse a toastier fragrance. Biting into these gorgeous orbs release a cascade of sweetness which charms the palate.

To top off this candied treat, a smattering of sugar is added to the drink, before it’s blow-torched for a richer caramelisation. With so much sweetness packed in one cup, it’s no surprise that those with a sweet tooth are flocking towards Xing Fu Tang.

Besides their popular Brown Sugar Boba Milk, they also have other sweet confections that are worth checking out. Our pick is their Mango Smoothie and Rabbit Panna Cotta ($6.90) – the squishy white bunny crowning the drink def’ makes it worthy of the ‘gram. As sweet as it is refreshing, the fruity undertones of the drink will be the perfect way to end a tiring week.
