Those living in Jurong and craving yakiniku that doesn’t pinch the wallet can head down to Yakiniku Shokudo at IMM. This Japanese barbecue restaurant is a recent addition to the IMM dining roster, and has meat sets starting from just $9.90. Plus, they’re halal-certified!

Yakiniku Shokudo is run by the same folks behind Tokyo Shokudo, a halal-certified Japanese restaurant chain with outlets in Tampines, Westgate, Northpoint City, Lot One, and City Square Mall.

The spacious restaurant is decked with tabletop grills, where diners can barbecue a variety of meats off the menu. Their Beef Karubi Set is priced at just $9.90++, but other options include the Beef Sirloin Steak ($17.90++), and the Wagyu Beef Set ($26.90++).

If you want a little bit of everything, get the Shokudo Set. Priced at $18.90++ for a half portion, and $22.90++ for a full portion, this set includes beef karubi, beef tongue, and beef steak.
Chicken sets are also available, starting at $8.90++ for 100g. If you just want small portions of meat to enjoy, they have 50g of beef or chicken starting at $2.50++.
Enjoy your barbecued meats with a variety of sides available. These include Butter Mushroom and Butter Corn, both priced at $0.90++. Otherwise, the restaurant also has donburi bowls from $12.90++. These include their famed Hokkaido Beef Curry Don ($14.90++), served with meltingly tender beef chunks in a mild curry gravy.
Do note that dining times are limited to 60 minutes per table. The restaurant does not accept reservations.
Yakiniku Shokudo has also opened their second outlet at #02-25 Lot One, but the halal status has yet to be confirmed.
