Yeah Gelato: Viral Chinese Chain Opens At Plaza Singapura With Pistachio And Durian Flavours

China’s Yeah Gelato opens at Plaza Singapura

We’ve seen a myriad of gelato shops pop up in 2025: think Tofu G, Gelato Messina, and Burnt Cones’ new One-North outlet. Another one to add to your list is Yeah Gelato, a China-born chain that’s going viral for its creamy, aesthetic gelato with its signature tall peaks.

Originating from Beijing, the chain has flourished since 2011, and now has over 168 outlets all across China. The new opening at Plaza Singapura marks the chain’s first venture into Singapore.

Their specialty is the Pistachio ($9.80), which is renowned for its golden pistachio dusting and rich, nutty flavours. With chunks of crushed pistachio nuts swirled within, this flavour is decadent, combining earthy and salty tones with a thick and creamy texture.

Other than Pistachio, Premium Rice ($9.80) is another flavour offered in the “Gold” category, while the other flavours are classified as “Classic”.

It features a smoky, roasted flavour, accompanied by short-grained rice bits that enhance the texture of the gelato.

Premium flavours aside, the stall boasts a roster of 22 different Classic flavours, each made fresh daily and served from traditional Italian Pozzetti tubs. While the Pistachio is always available, the Classic flavours rotate daily and are all priced at $7.80.

During our visit, we caught popular favourites such as Dark Chocolate and Durian, while others, including Vanilla, Hazelnut Chocolate, Caramel Sea Salt, and Hawthorn, weren’t available.

We felt that the Dark Chocolate could have been a tad richer in its bittersweet notes, but appreciated its smooth and creamy texture.

Though we felt the same about the Durian, which could have been stronger in flavour, we think Yeah Gelato’s version is great for those new to the king of fruits.

You can have your gelato served in a cup or cone. If you get a Double Cup ($10.80), you can order the Pistachio or Premium Rice flavour at no extra cost!

Yeah Gelato is located outside Plaza Singapura, right next to Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. It takes over the cold-pressed juice stand Frucci, which is moving to another unconfirmed location.

There are no dine-in seats at this kiosk, but worry not, as there are outdoor benches that are just a stone’s throw away from Yeah Gelato.

If you’re in the area, check our Plaza Singapura food guide, where you can find the best places to eat in the popular mall. If you are looking for more places to hop on the pistachio gelato trend, we got you covered with our Pistachio gelato guide.
