These days, nasi lemak is no longer just about rice and fried chicken—we have So Lemak in Bedok serving up har cheong gai nasi lemak, and Husk Nasi Lemak in Bugis with fusion nasi lemak paired with beef rendang and moo ping-inspired chicken. There’s also Yoshi’s Kitchen, a new hawker stall in Toa Payoh selling nasi lemak omurice.

Japanese-inspired nasi lemak sounds a little strange, but when the different ingredients come together, this dish is said to be delicious.Â
The Chicken Karaage and Luncheon Meat ($5.50) is a great example—this main consists of fragrant coconut rice topped with a fluffy scrambled egg that’s seasoned with furikake and a drizzle of teriyaki sauce. The egg is said to be soft and creamy, similar to what you’d find in omurice. On the side, you get three pieces of fried chicken karaage and four cubes of pork luncheon meat. And of course, not forgetting the must-haves in any nasi lemak dish: sambal and ikan bilis.

For something simpler, get the Mid Wing ($6.50) instead. This one features four pieces of fried chicken wings!

Else, go big or go home with The Ultimate ($11.90): this single dish alone gets you a hashbrown, sausage, crispy bacon, and two pieces of chicken wings.
Though nasi lemak takes centre stage here, customers also enjoy the stall’s gorgeous selection of kue lapis with more than 10 flavours to choose from, from Lychee ($3.20) and Pandan Gula Melaka ($2.80) to Milo Dinosaur ($2.80) and Rum and Raisin ($4).
