For legit Thai noodles and rice dishes that won’t break the bank, check out Yuan Authentic Thai Stewed Beef Noodle. Located in Ghim Moh Road Market & Food Centre, the stall is run by a lady from Chiang Rai, Thailand, so there’s a good chance that the “authentic” in the stall’s name is accurate.

The Thai Sliced Beef Noodles here are highly raved about, and yet the “small” portion only sets you back $2.80. You can expect it to have a warm broth that’s beefy and aromatic, succulent beef slices succulent, and silky noodles. For a heartier portion, opt for the “normal” size, which costs $5.

If you prefer having grains to noods, then we recommend trying the Thai Pork Knuckle Rice ($4), where you get a generous portion of white rice topped with juicy and tender slices of pork knuckle. Many patrons have noted that the pork is braised excellently, too. Aside from meat, the dish comes with some vegetables and a hard-boiled egg.

The stall also does a mean Tom Yam Seafood Noodle Soup (from $5). The dish features prawns, sliced fish, white mushrooms, noodles and more, all in a flavourful tom yum soup. Sour, citrusy, and hot, the broth is said to be a great example of tom yum done right.
