Get $3 Oat Milk Kopi At This Hong Lim Complex Stall

Zheng Ming Cha Shi Has oat milk kopi In Hong Lim Complex

Of the many non-dairy milk options available, oat milk is one that has been gaining popularity recently in Singapore. Other than hipster coffee joints and supermarkets, it seems that even hawkers have joined in on the trend. We found out that Zheng Ming Cha Shi in Hong Lim Complex sells oat milk kopi, and so we went down to try it out.

Zheng Ming Cha Shi has been operating in Hong Lim since 1978 and is run by a friendly older couple. Their Oat Kopi Peng ($3) is served in a plastic cup, and uses the popular Oatside Oat Milk, which we’ve recently ranked as the best oatmilk in Singapore!

For those who are wondering, oat milk is smooth and creamy with a natural earthiness, making it a great lactose-free addition to your coffees and teas. It is naturally sweeter than other milk substitutes but also has cholesterol-reducing dietary fibre.

The stall is generous with oat milk, which makes for a good creamy latte.

Other than oat milk kopi, Zheng Ming also sells your typical drinks stall fare, including an aromatic Kopi ($1.10) and sweet Teh ($1.10).

If you haven’t eaten breakfast yet, start your day right with two Soft Boiled Eggs ($1.60) and their traditional Kaya Toast ($1.80), which features two halves of toasted white bread cut into quarters with butter and kaya spread in the middle. Remember to dip your toast into your eggs for the true Singaporean breakfast experience!

In other news, check out DDSD, a new stall by young hawkers in Hong Lim that’s become popular for their fresh, handmade beancurd. We also have a hong lim complex food guide for the best eats in hawker centre.

Address: 531A Upper Cross Street, #01-46, Hong Lim Complex, Singapore 051531
