Recently, our team has noticed a wave of new stalls across Singapore serving up fun twists on nasi lemak, one of the country’s most beloved dishes. Roasted Pork Belly Nasi Lemak in Hougang and Madness Nasi Lemak in Bugis are two of the latest examples, and joining this lineup is 57 Nasi Lovemak in Bukit Timah. Here, you’ll find the dish served with salmon, grilled chicken and more.
Before diving into the stall’s lesser-seen items, it would be remiss not to mention its classic nasi lemak, which also comes with a playfun spin. The Blessed Half Fried Chicken ($10.90) isn’t your average single piece—you get a whole half chicken that easily takes up half the plate. The golden brown chicken is fried to crispy perfection upon order.
What’s more interesting is the grilled alternative, available in the form of their hearty Faith Fire BBQ Half Chicken ($10.90), Promised Land Grilled Leg ($9.90), and Blessed Bites BBQ Wings ($6.90).
The priciest item on the menu is the Living Water Salmon ($13.90), which replaces the fried or grilled chicken with crispy, flaky salmon. Every plate of nasi lemak comes with the essentials, such as peanuts, ikan bilis, and sambal, and you even get a scoop of achar to cut through any greasiness.
If these toppings aren’t enough for you, we recommend adding more, as there are plenty of options to choose from: Lychee Prawn Ball, Sotong Prawn Stick, and Fried Fish Bean Curd, all priced at $1.20 each.Â
For easy access, the nasi lemak stall is a 10-minute walk from Hillview MRT Station. It’s fairly new to business, so please extend some grace if you encounter any hiccups along the way.
