Once in a while, I like to swing by convenience stores not just for their wide range of ready-to-eat meals, but also to see if any new snacks are worth a try. During my recent trip to 7-Eleven, I found a new Oreo cream puff tucked away in the corner of the refrigerated food section, and I knew instantly that I had to buy it.
Each Oreo cream puff costs $2.40. There’s also an ongoing deal till 14 January 2025, where you can get it at just $2.20!
The soft, palm-sized cream puff doesn’t shout anything special at first blush, but you’ll be impressed by how loaded it is as soon as you open it. When I took a bite, the puff pastry reminded me of Chateraise’s cream puff—a melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s airy and fluffy.Â
The milk cream is velvety smooth with a bit of crunch thanks to the chocolate cookie. There’s just the right amount of sweetness, contrasting well with the slightly milky flavour. Interestingly, the pronounced cocoa taste of Oreo is relatively mild in this, making it a not-too-heavy snack to have on the go.
This new snack is available at most 7-Eleven stores! We don’t know how long it will be on the shelves for, so make your way down ASAP to try it for yourself.
If you’re looking for a cool space to check out this and next weekend, read more about Louis Vuitton x Murakami pop-up cafe in Joo Chiat. There’s also Nana & Friends, dubbed Singapore’s first mystery blind box bingsu cafe at Suntec City.
