The under-the-radar eatery offers affordable la mian and dumplings in a casual, no-frills setting. The cheapest mains on the menu are Sichuan Ramen with Peppery Sauce AKA dan dan mian and Ramen with Minced Meat AKA zha jiang mian, which go for $6.50 each. Prices are nett too, so you won’t break the bank here!

Most of the items are under $10, including the popular Ramen with Prawn Dumpling in Hot Chilli Sauce and Vinegar ($9.80). This hearty main stars springy noodles tossed in a tangy and spicy sauce, topped with four prawn dumplings.

Those who want something soupy on a rainy day can opt for the Ramen with Shanghai Wanton ($8) instead. The broth is said to be rich and comforting, without being overly salty.

Otherwise, if you’re visiting in a group, share the Pork Dumpling in Hot Chilli and Vinegar ($7.50) AKA 红油抄手, which comes with six pieces of handmade wonton.

800 Bowls boasts a 4.6-star rating from close to 200 Google reviews, so you know they’re legit. The eatery is also centrally located, which makes it a popular weekday lunch spot among office workers in the area. We recommend visiting during off-peak hours to avoid the crowd.
