After Hours Gelato has just built an entire menu around our favourite old-school snacks. The late-night dessert cafe has rolled out a new nostalgic series, turning four beloved childhood snacks into limited-time gelato flavours!
After Hours is best known for keeping Singaporeans fed with gelato and mochi waffles well past midnight, with two outlets: Bishan and Haw Par Villa. Both cafes open till 2am daily, making it a hit among the supper crowd.
The nostalgic series is priced at $7 for a single cup, or $25 for a set of four, and is available for a limited time only.
The Paddle Pop Rainbow with Iced Gem Biscuits was our favourite of the lot. It nails that old-school vanilla essence, butter, and caramel flavour that made the original Paddle Pop a childhood staple.
A close second was the Wang Zai Niu Nai with Wang Zai Xiao Man Tou, which carries a milky flavour not unlike White Rabbit candy.
It’s paired with tiny Wang Zai mantou buns that melt in the mouth, though this was also the sweetest scoop of the series.
The Hawflakes with Hawflakes Disc was an interesting number, suited for those who like their desserts “not too sweet”.
The familiar hawflake candy taste comes through clearly, layered with a slightly floral, berry-like jamminess and a mild tang.
Rounding off the series is the Ribena Sorbet with Lychee Jelly, dotted with little pops of lychee jelly. It’s light and refreshing, ideal for Singapore’s heat, though we wished the blackcurrant flavour came through more strongly.
There’s no word on when these flavours will be available yet, so we recommend trying them before it’s too late!
In other exciting food news, keep an eye out for the return of the MILO socks, available with the purchase of the MILO van sachets. We also have a guide to the best mooncakes in Singapore for 2026, perfect for gifting your loved ones.
