Hao Lai Ke, the brainchild of a former Din Tai Fung chef, started as a Bedok coffeeshop stall in 2023. Given Din Tai Fung’s fame for its fried rice, the Pork Ribs Fried Rice ($7.80) here is a must-try—see if you can spot any familiar flavours. For something more affordable, opt for the simple Omelette Fried Rice ($5.50) instead, which essentially replaces the pork rib with more egg. Fried rice aside, many regulars return for the nutty and savoury Dan Dan Noodles ($6.50), too.

It hasn’t been long since A Hot Hideout joined the mall, but the popular mala chain is already seeing snaking queues. All ingredients are priced at $2.88 per 100g, and the final price is based on the weight of the ingredients in your bowl. If it’s your first time here, here’s a tip: request a scrambled egg, which is wonderfully silky and buttery. Otherwise, opt for deep-fried lotus root and potato slices if you prefer something crispy.
