Popular Korean Bakery Opens In Somerset With Wood-Fired Italian Sandwiches

Noci Bakehouse opens second outlet at Orchard Gateway

If you’ve only known Noci Bakehouse for its salt bread queues at Suntec City, its newest outlet is doing something completely different. The popular Korean bakery-cafe has opened its second location at Orchard Gateway, and this one drops the shio pan in favour of a fresh lineup built around Korean bagels and an outlet-exclusive panuozzo menu.

 

 

In place of the shio pan, the Orchard Gateway outlet runs a full rotation of Korean bagels, with a noticeably chewier bite. A total of 13 flavours are available, including both sweet and savoury, alongside a small selection of house-made cream cheeses.

The bigger draw, though, is the panuozzo menu, priced between $18 and $23, a wood-fired Italian sandwich bread made fresh to order and exclusive to this outlet. The dough itself stands out for how light it is, even with heavier fillings piled on top.

We’re eyeing the Korean-inspired Bulgogi Panuozzo ($18), built around the same savoury-sweet marinated beef found in Korean bagels and buns across town. For something richer, the Burrata Jambon Panuozzo ($23) stacks ham with a whole ball of burrata on top.

The Ricotta Mortadella Panuozzo ($21) layers mortadella through the soft, chewy wood-fired bread for a more classic combination, while the Combination Panuozzo ($20) goes in a different direction entirely, built on pizza sauce, salami, and grilled corn.

For easy reference, the new cafe is opposite Yo-Chi Frozen Yoghurt.
