Singapore Cruise Centre opens new HarbourFront terminal

Heading off on a ferry to Batam or waiting to board a cruise usually means squeezing in a meal beforehand, and travellers passing through Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC)’s new HarbourFront terminal now have a small but solid lineup to choose from before they set sail.

The new terminal officially opened after a 24-month redevelopment, taking over ferry and cruise operations from the old HarbourFront Centre premises, located just 70 metres from where the original terminal stood. Ferry operations have actually been running there since 15 July 2026, and in that time, the terminal has already processed more than 720,000 ferry and cruise passengers.

Travellers checking in can skip the queue at one of 25 self-service kiosks to validate their passport, check in, and print their boarding pass and baggage tag in under a minute. Cruise passengers get their own dedicated kerbside baggage drop and a VIP lounge that fits up to 70 people while waiting for their ship to call. From here, ferries connect out to destinations including Batam Centre and Bintan, with more than 100 cruise calls passing through annually.

Anvar’s Cafe(#01-13) is the terminal’s Indian-Muslim eatery, a solid pick for travellers after a proper meal rather than a quick snack before boarding. You can get nasi padang here, priced from $6.50 for one chicken and two veggie dishes.

Old Chang Kee (#01-12) needs no introduction—the local chain’s curry puffs and other fried snacks are a familiar pre-departure ritual for many Singaporeans, and a quick grab-and-go option here. The homegrown brand has come a long way from its Mackenzie Road roots, too, with an outpost all the way in London’s Covent Garden since 2018.

Subway (#02-13) is on hand for anyone who’d rather build their own sandwich than hunt for a hawker meal before boarding.

Tuckshop (#02-10/11) rounds out the dining options. The food court offers the usual mix of cai fan, bak chor mee and more.

7-Eleven (#02-02) covers the last-minute essentials — drinks, snacks, and anything you forgot to pack. If you’ve got time to spare before boarding, it’s also worth popping in for a look at what’s new on the shelves; the convenience store chain has been on a roll lately, most recently with a nori-wrapped Onigiri Ice Cream that’s shaped like an actual rice ball.
