Hot on the heels of A&W’s opening at Jewel Changi Airport and the crazy two-hour long queue that came with it is the fast food joint’s second outlet at Ang Mo Kio.
Slated to open at AMK Hub in July, this outlet will boast more seats than their Airport counterpart. Expect to find 2,812 sq ft of space that can comfortably sit up to 142 diners. Hopefully this means a shorter queue time or no queues at all. There will also be a selfie-corner set up for us to satisfy our IG needs, although we doubt it will be as nice as any of these beautiful cafes.
For hardcore A&W fans, you can look forward to scoring merchandise such as caps and T-shirts here too.
If you’ve not been to A&W yet and are wondering what to try, our writer recommends getting the Root Beer Float ($3.50), the Golden Aroma Chicken ($3.20 per piece, $8.90 for the two-piece combo) as well as Curly Fries ($3.60). Most of the burgers are a tad dry, so skip those. The only burger that received a high score from us are the A&W Cream Cheese Chicken Burger and A&W Cream Cheese Beef Burger ($7.90 a la carte, $10.90 set meal), which features a fried chicken patty, chicken crisp, deep fried onion rings, caramelised onions and a generous dollop of cream cheese.
With their second outlet set to open soon, we hope A&W will get their halal certification processed ASAP.
