Bae.gal: Fresh Bagels With Orh Nee, Garlic Cream Cheese And More From $3.20

Bae.gal is a kiosk at Century Square with cheap bagels

Just when we thought the bagel trend has come and gone, there’s another entrant on the market: Bae.gal, the hottest addition to Century Square. Located on Level 1 of the Tampines shopping mall, this takeaway kiosk is run by the same team behind local bakery Swee Heng.

These colourful bagels remind us of San.wich, another new-ish sandwich concept by the same brand. They first launched in Choa Chu Kang in March this year, before rolling out a few other outlets across the island, including one at The Woodleigh Mall.

Back to Bae.gal: here, you’ll find an array of pre-packed bagels that are said to be soft and chewy. Tuck into savoury bagel sandwiches at affordable prices, with the likes Garlic Cream Cheese Bagel ($3.60+), Four Cheese Bagel ($3.80+), Triple Cheese Honey Mochi Bagel ($3.80+), Chicken Cutlet with Egg & Cheese Bagel ($3.20+), and Taiwan Yam & Purple Sweet Potato Bagel ($3.40+).

Their Garlic Cream Cheese Bagel is packed with a fairly sweet cream cheese within, and is roasted with garlic and parsley flakes. We recommend popping this into the air fryer for a minute or so to enjoy it in the best possible way.

We particularly enjoyed their Taiwan Yam & Purple Sweet Potato Bagel, which features a glorious combination of sweet potato paste and yam chunks. The mildly sweet flavour was to our liking, and in terms of texture, the generous chunks of yam complemented the chewy bagel.

For a filling snack or breakfast to have on the go, their Chicken Cutlet with Egg & Cheese Bagel is an ideal choice. It presents a neat layer of lettuce, chicken cutlet, an egg, cheese, tomatoes, and a creamy sweet sauce. Priced at just $3.20, this bagel is truly a steal.

Fans of sweet and salty combinations will fancy their Triple Cheese Honey Mochi Bagel. This bagel might appear rather ordinary at first blush, but there’s a secret ingredient hiding within: honey mochi from Taiwan! This flavour is said to be popular among patrons thanks to the sweet-salty combination of cheese and mochi.

If you can’t get enough of cheese, there’s the Four Cheese Bagel which consists of mozzarella and emmental cheese cubes, topped with a slice of cheddar cheese.
