Ramen fans, heads up: Bari-Uma Ramen has opened their second outlet at Novena Gardens. Hailing from Hiroshima, the Japanese chain is most known for their uber-rich and flavourful tonkotsu shoyu broth.
Bari-Uma Ramen’s soups are imported from Japan, while their noodles are freshly made in-house.

Get their signature Ajitama Uma ($14.90++): pork-flavoured shoyu soup with thick-cut grilled chashu, topped with a perfectly cooked ramen egg. Unlike most shoyu-based soups, Bari-Uma Ramen’s one is said to be uber gao and flavourful.

The ramen chain also has chicken-flavoured soup options, such as the Tori-Kara-Uma ($14.90++), a spicy ramen dish topped with two slabs of grilled chicken, served with their signature springy ramen.
If noodles aren’t your go-to choice of carb, there are rice dishes available too, including the Japanese Claypot Rice Eel ($14.90++), and a more affordable Charshu Terimayo Rice ($5.90++) that’ll satisfy those with a small appetite.

If you’re still feeling peckish, order a side of Aburi Cheese Gyoza to share. Available in a plate of five ($8.90++) or 10 ($16.90++), these dumplings are topped with cheese, then grilled for a smoky finish.
Alternatively, fill up on the Yakitori Combo ($13.90++), which comes with five pork or chicken skewers.

The new Bari-Uma Ramen outlet is a convenient seven-minute walk from Novena MRT Station. After filling up on ramen, head to Celine’s Gelato, also in Novena, for some desserts!
