Hokkien Man Hokkien Mee To Open At Tampines 1 Food Court Soon

Hokkien Man Hokkien Mee will open its second outlet at Tampines 1

It’s not difficult to find good hokkien mee spots in Singapore, and Hokkien Man Hokkien Mee is one of the first names that springs to mind. Since opening in 2019, the brand has become a popular fixture at its sole outlet in Toa Payoh, consistently drawing crowds of diners.

But fans no longer need to travel to the central area just for it, as the brand will finally be opening its second branch at Tampines 1‘s Hawker Street food court on 15 March, so Easties can now get their fix much closer to home.

The new outlet is also expected to help ease the queues at their first outlet, which have been long since the eatery was inducted into the 2025 Michelin Guide. The stall is easy to spot, thanks to its striking yellow signboard that features a huge graphic of owner Xavier Neo in the middle.

Hokkien Mee Hokkien Man is jointly run by Xavier and his wife, Alice Lai. He previously worked as a sous chef at the three-Michelin-starred Les Amis, incorporating techniques learned from the French fine-dining kitchen into his signature dish. Alice also brings her own kitchen experience to the brand, with the sambal adapted from a recipe she created while operating a nasi lemak stall years ago.

It is said that the couple wakes up at 5am each day to prepare the stock for their dish, which their hokkien mee is known for. Their iconic wet-style broth allows the mix of yellow noodles and thick bee hoon to soak up the rich gravy, infusing it with deep seafood flavours—without being overly cloying.

On top of that, the dish is loaded with generous toppings, including chives, bean sprouts, pre-peeled prawns, squid, pork belly, and of course, crispy pork lard.

We fully expect the queues at their new outlet to be just as lengthy as their OG outlet, so come hungry—and patient!
