Baristart Coffee Has New Limited-Time Premium Matcha Cream Puffs

Baristart Coffee matcha series

If you can’t get enough of Baristart Coffee or matcha, here’s some good news for you! From now till 30 June 2022, Baristart Coffee is launching a special Matcha Series with three new offerings. Made using Okumidori matcha—a single-origin matcha from Kyoto, these desserts are coloured in an intense shade of green and are said to boast a strong earthiness of flavour.

Filled with a matcha-based cream instead of the original, the Matcha Cream Puff ($9++) guarantees to be a delight. Premium Okumidori matcha is paired with Hokkaido BIEI Jersey milk to create an indulgent cream that simply flows out of the choux pastry when it’s bitten into.

In the drinks department, diners can also look forward to the Matcha Soda ($8) and Matcha Mango Hokkaido Milk ($11). The former is a fizzy drink that we imagine would highlight the bitter notes of the Okumidori matcha, while the latter combines the tea with Baristart Coffee’s signature full cream milk and mango puree for a fruity, bittersweet matcha latte.

Though their outlet at Jewel Changi Airport is now closed, you can still enjoy these Baristart Coffee’s matcha series desserts at Tras Street and Sentosa. All three items are available for both dine-in and takeaway, but we highly recommend having the Matcha Cream Puff in-store as it can be a messy affair!

If sweet treats are not your style, Baristart Coffee also has savoury items on its menu. Breakfast items such as the Roku Kinoko ($22.80++), Croque Monsieur ($24.80++), and Eggs Benedict ($22.80++)  can be enjoyed all day at their Tras Street outlet.

The Roku Kinoko is a sourdough toast served with six different types of mushrooms, while the Croque Monsieur sees Kurobuta ham, doused in parsnip white bechamel sauce, and sandwiched between two pieces of buttered toast.

For more dessert options, check out KURA’s new location at South Bridge Road which has an Uji Matcha Tiramisu! ICYMI, McDonald’s Smoky Nacho Cheese Sauce and Roasted Sesame & Seaweed Shaker Fries will return tomorrow!
