Strawberry matcha latte was all the hype in 2024, but that’s not to say that the buzz over this sweet-umami drink has phased out this year. In fact, many matcha cafes today continue to put their spin on the trendy drink, which typically comprises three layers: matcha, milk, and some type of strawberry puree or sauce. Here are six cafes in Singapore with the best strawberry matcha lattes!
Haus Coffee is best known for its viral banana pudding matcha latte. But besides the trendy drink, their Iced Strawberry Matcha ($8) is pretty amazing, as the matcha was umami and earthy with a good milk-to-matcha-ratio. We wished the strawberry bits were chunkier for textural variety, but overall, it was a solid cup of strawberry matcha latte worth every dollar. Bonus: all prices are nett here!

If you’ve been in the matcha scene for a while, you would have heard of Matchaya, a popular chain with four outlets in Singapore at the time of writing. Their matcha powder is well loved by many cafes, including Spring Coffee, which we will get into later.
The Matcha Strawberry Milk ($8+) featured their brand’s Uji Matcha 8 powder, which wasn’t as robust and umami as the matcha latte made using their ceremonial powder. But it was still of pretty decent quality, and we loved that the strawberry came in big chunks. It would have been better if there were more though, as the chunks were gone before we finished half the drink. Prices are relatively affordable, so we think Matchaya’s strawberry matcha latte is pretty worth your buck!

TSUJIRI needs no introduction. Best known for their wide range of matcha drinks and desserts, the six outlets across Singapore are testaments to their popularity.
The Iced Strawberry Matcha ($7++) came with a beautiful green and pink gradient. The strawberry bits were rather sour, which added a tangy aftertaste. Also, we liked that the strawberry milk was made by combining strawberry puree with plain Meiji milk. The house-made blend helped to mellow down the milkiness, giving a good balance between the creamy milk and earthy matcha flavours. For the price paid, TSUJIRI’s version makes for a pretty good cup of strawberry matcha latte.

The best thing about Ichigo by Tea Cottage is their customisable drinks: matcha profile, intensity, sugar and milk level. Their Iced Strawberry Ceremonial Uji Matcha Latte ($12.90) was mildly sweet, and we would have preferred if the puree were less tart. But here’s the saving grace: the latte came with a microfoam that made it extra creamy, and we appreciated that the drink wasn’t diluted even after all the ice had melted.
For a cheaper option, go for the Strawberry Barista Uji Matcha Latte ($10.30) instead, which is made using barista matcha powder instead of the pricier ceremonial matcha powder. The drinks here aren’t the cheapest, but if you enjoy customising your beverages, Ichigo by Tea Cottage is worth a visit.

One of the first to hop on the strawberry matcha trend is Spring Coffee, a quaint cafe tucked away at the second level of Hong Lim Complex. The best part is that prices are nett. This includes the Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8.50), which comes with house-made strawberry puree, strawberry milk, and earthy matcha. Taste-wise, there was a good balance between the strawberry milk and matcha, though it would have tasted better with more strawberry puree. We were a tad disappointed by the lack of umami flavour, but if you like your matcha on the grassier side, their drinks may be to your liking!

KYO KOHEE is a Japanese-inspired cafe best known for its self-sourced matcha and hojicha powder. The Iced Strawberry Matcha ($12.90++) came with mashed strawberries that were too pulpy for our liking. When everything was mixed well, the milk slightly overpowered the matcha taste, so we recommend their drinks for those who prefer their matcha latte milky. Do note that the prices at KYO KOHEE are pretty steep, with a cup of matcha easily exceeding $10. Taking the price into consideration, we recommend it only if you’re craving matcha latte in the CBD.
