If you live in the West, we’ve got good news for you. Bukit Batok West Hawker Centre has officially opened with 22 food stalls, including famous Eng Kee Chicken Wings, sheng jian bao by an ex-Crystal Jade chef and more!

The new food centre is located on the ground floor of Harmony Village @ Bukit Batok, a short bus ride away from Bukit Gombak MRT Station. There are over 400 seats and 80 tables, spread across a clean and spacious dining area.

Eng Kee Chicken Wings is a highlight at the new hawker centre. Around since 1989, the popular homegrown brand is now run by its second-generation owner. They have multiple outlets across the island, including Anchorvale Village and Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre.

Priced at $1.60, Eng Kee’s chicken wings are said to be well-marinated with an ideal batter-to-meat ratio. On our previous visit, we found the wings crispy on the outside and juicy within.

For a satisfying snack, head to Sheng Jian Bao. This new stall is headed by an ex-Crystal Jade dim sum chef who exited the restaurant in 2023 to start his first stall, Xiang Yu Sheng Jian Bao, in Jurong West. You’ll find their signature Pan-Fried Pork Buns (price TBD) here, which come with a crispy bottom and savoury, meaty middle.

Otherwise, visit Lao Zhao Pai Wantan Noodle, run by a millennial hawker. Their char siew, wonton, and noodles are all made from scratch.

Besides the aforementioned stalls, you’ll also find Ju Xing Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice, which has an outlet at Geylang Bahru, Nam Kee Pau, a popular chain known for their XXL Amy Yip Pau ($5), and Sunbo Express Penyet + BBQ for halal food options.

In other food news, Nutella has ice cream tubs, which you can now find at various FairPrice Finest outlets! You can also read our guide to the best banana pudding matcha latte in Singapore if you’re up to try something different.

Address: 469 Bukit Batok West Ave 9, Singapore 650469
Opening hours: TBD
