Chatterbox will ring a bell if you’re an avid chicken rice lover—the famous restaurant has been around since 1971. Good news, the homegrown brand has just opened their first express outlet, Chatterbox Express, at Changi Airport Terminal 1! Expect a wide range of traditional breakfast options and local favourites, alongside their signature chicken rice, that will give you a taste of home.
Open from 6am to 2am every day, this is the ideal breakfast spot for those catching a red-eye flight. There’s the must-have breakfast item, Kaya Butter Toast ($4.50), which you can top up $3 to upgrade into a set with soft-boiled eggs and a cup of kopi or teh. For something easier on the stomach, opt for the Chicken & Egg Congee with You Tiao ($9). Do note that these two items are available until 12pm.
It’d be remiss of you not to try their famous chicken rice, aptly named the Legendary Mandarin Chicken Rice ($13.80). We recommend getting the full set for $16.80, comprising chicken rice, a side of seasonal veggies, a braised egg, and three different condiments.
Chicken rice aside, there are five other mains to choose from, including the Local Fried Bee Hoon (from $9.50) and Singapore Curry Chicken (from $11.50). For the former, you can add a fried chicken wing, curry chicken, or a fried egg and luncheon meat depending on your preference. As for the latter, you can choose between jasmine rice and bread!
FYI, the newly opened eatery can seat up to 16 diners at once and is located at the transit hall of Changi Airport Terminal 1.

Address: Departure/Transit Lounge East, #02-52, Transit Hall at Changi Airport Terminal 1
