Bored of your usual CHAGEE and Mixue runs in Singapore? You’re not alone. While these China-born favourites dominate our local scene, many bubble tea brands from China have yet to arrive on our shores. Many Singaporeans plan trips there with bubble tea stops on the agenda, so we’ve rounded up the 10 best China bubble tea brands—giving you the perfect excuse to sip through countless cups while clocking up those steps.

1. Ah Ma Handmade (阿嬷手作)

One of the most highly acclaimed bubble tea spots in China, with outlets in Nanning, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, Ah Ma Handmade often draws long queues of up to two hours. A tribute to grandmothers and their gift for turning fresh ingredients into heartfelt flavours, expect each cup to be lovingly crafted. 

Don’t miss their Sri Lankan Milk Tea (¥23), crafted with rich, high-quality Sri Lankan buffalo milk. Another signature favourite is the Taro Mochi Milk Tea (¥29), which combines velvety taro paste with a handmade, pillow-like rice mochi base that melts in your mouth. Ranked among the top bubble tea outlets on popular social media platform China Insider’s bubble tea tier list, Modern China Tea Shop—also known as Sexy Tea—has cemented its reputation as a leading brand in China’s tea scene. Founded in Changsha in 2013 with an emphasis on fusing traditional tea cultures with modern flavours, it now has outlets in Suzhou, Wuhan, and Chongqing

Stealing the spotlight is their Ceylon Milk Tea (¥18), an addictive black tea topped with condensed milk, whipped cream, and crunchy pecans, along with other classics such as their Peach Oolong Tea (Price TBD). 3. Li Shan Shan (李山山)

A relatively new entrant, Li Shan Shan opened its first stores in Chengdu in 2023 and has quickly won the hearts of bubble tea lovers across cities such as Guiyang, Xi’an, Nanjing, and Chongqing. Each item on their no-frills menu is built on a carefully brewed tea base. 

Li Shan Shan’s defining feature is its distinctive brewing method, which pays homage to Chengdu’s long-standing tea culture. Its drinks, including their signature Claypot Milk Tea (Price TBD), are brewed in traditional clay pots rather than conventional equipment, allowing their flavours to develop into a more nuanced cup. The brand recommends enjoying each drink within five minutes to taste it at its best.

4. Cha Li Yi Shi (茶理宜世)

Also known as Charlie’s Tea, Cha Li Yi Shi has expanded to over 500 stores across major Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing, and has also ventured internationally to Germany, England, and Spain.

The brand’s drinks are also deeply influenced by traditional Chinese culture and are prepared without coffee creamer, ensuring each cup is both delicious and healthy. Signature offerings include enticing creations such as Misty Rain Oolong Tea (¥17/21), Lush Orchid Milk Tea (¥18/22), and Matcha Gyokuro (Price TBD), each carefully and delightfully crafted.

5. Charlie Town Milk Tea ( 紅茶公司)

For those seeking the luxurious side of bubble tea, Charlie Town Milk Tea is the place to go. With locations in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Suzhou, it has earned the nickname “The Hermès of Milk Tea” for its minimalist design and premium pricing. Its chic storefront, featuring the brand’s signature blue and silver striped cups, could easily be mistaken for a luxury boutique.

The menu still offers familiar favourites, like Earl Grey Milk Tea (¥36) and Honey Melon Jin Xuan Milk Tea (¥26). Beyond their premium taste, these drinks are crafted with the health-conscious in mind, using high-quality red tea bases sourced from select regions.

6. Bonjour (本就茶饮)

Another brand that appeals to the senses is Bonjour, which exudes the same premium feel. Its modern storefront and elegantly simple transparent cups, each branded with the company name sets the tone. The attention to detail is reflected in their drinks, from bouncy pearls cooked daily in brown sugar to cream foam lightly bruleed for a delicate finish.

7. No Yeye No Tea (爷爷不泡茶)

Founded in Wuhan in 2018, No Yeye No Tea is recognised for its quirky name and range of fruity and floral teas paired with unique toppings. The brand now has more than 2,200 outlets across China, with locations in major cities such as Beijing and Changsha. 

Aside from their Lychee Rice Wine Tea (price TBD), one of their most well-received drinks is their Osmanthus Tea (price TBD), made with flowers sourced from Hubei province in central China—a beverage that sold an impressive 7.4 million cups in 2024.

8. 13de Marzo Cafe

If you have seen photos of a teddy bear clinging onto milk tea cups, that’s 13de Marzo Cafe—a viral bear-themed cafe where every drink comes with an adorable plush topping. A concept by the Paris‑founded fashion brand, the cafe delivers more than just Instagram‑worthy drinks and photo spots, offering a menu of high-quality beverages.
