New Chunky Lobsters Outlet At Orchard Gateway

Before Luke’s Lobsters, Singapore had Chunky Lobsters. After shutting their outlet at The Cathay, Chunky Lobsters is now open at Level One of Orchard Gateway, right above Somerset MRT station. 

Fans of Singapore’s OG lobster rolls diner will be happy to know that their nett prices will still be retained at this new outlet. Prices for lobster rolls now start from $18, a slight hike from when they first opened at Oxley Tower in 2018. You now also have the option to upsize your lobster roll to a medium, or large, which comes with more of the same juicy Canadian lobster flesh.

Unlike the concise menu of three toppings when they first launched, Chunky Lobsters has doubled the selection to include torched Mentaiko (from $20), locally inspired Chilli Crab (from $20), and savoury, toothsome Bonito (from $20).

Besides lobster rolls, Chunky Lobster has also expanded their collection of rolls to include Prawn Rolls (from $9) and Snow Crab Rolls (from $12), featuring premium, melt-in-your-mouth Korean snow crab meat.

If that wasn’t tempting enough, the Snow Crab Roll comes in a luxe Truffle (from $16) edition, that sees the delicate meat pan-fried and drizzled with black truffle oil.

Each roll comes with a side of cassava chips, a healthier alternative to your usual potato crisps or French fries. There are also pasta options, sharing platters of grilled or fried seafood, and much more on the expanded menu. 

Centrally located on Level One of Orchard Gateway, a few doors down from CoffeeSmith, this new Chunky Lobsters outlet is a new spot to consider when you’re in town and can’t decide what to eat, especially with their relatively lower prices for lobster rolls.

New to the area is also Drips Bakery Cafe’s outlet at Ngee Ann City, where Japanese souffle pancake store Flipper’s has also set up shop, and the Jurassic World Cafe pop-up at ION Sky that runs till 3 January 2021.
