10 City Square Mall Food Lobangs That Are Great For Squad Outings From 1 July To 6 August

City Square Mall food lobangs for your squad

City Square Mall may seem like Farrer Park’s personal heartland mall, as it’s just a minute away from Farrer Park MRT Station, but in effect it really is the heartland mall of the North East Line. Located right smack in the middle of the purple line, this takes a maximum of 24 minutes to get to even if you stay at the tip of line, AKA Punggol.

Home to several big brands such as Uniqlo and Decathlon, this is one of those malls you can spend hours at just shopping. Thankfully, it also plays host to many food options to fill your tummy with in-between all that walking and trying out clothes. What’s more, there are several food lobangs to take advantage of between 1 July and 6 August 2017, so you can save on nosh and spend more on posh looks!

1. Streats – free main with every three ordered

Streats serves halal-certified dishes inspired by Hong Kong, Macau, and Indonesian cuisines. You can get an appetiser of Crispy Silver Fish ($7.90++) to start. These are addictive to snack on before the mains arrive, especially since they are not greasy. For something simple and comforting, their HK Shrimp & Chicken Dumplings Noodles ($9.80++) comes with springy noodles, fresh veggies and juicy dumplings. If Western food is your jam, go for their Chicken Chop Spaghetti ($11.50++).

Promotion: Get a free main course for every three mains ordered.

Address: 180 Kitchener Road, #01-01, City Square Mall, Singapore 208539
Opening hours: Daily 11am to 10pm
Tel: 6509 3902

2. Watami – free Gozen set with every three ordered

Japanese food lovers should flock to Watami for a wide range of options, from sushi and ramen to hot pots and BBQ skewers. Their Special Assorted Skewers ($15.90++) are great for sharing, with five different char-grilled skewers to choose from.

For a larger meal, you can upgrade to a premium Gozen set such as their Mini Cold Soba with Tempura & Soba Set ($29.90++), which comes with miso soup and chawanmushi. Sets can easily be shared by two people – or polished off by one hungry person.

For a set that’ll comfortably fill you up without stuffing your tummy, go for a regular Gozen set. Each of this set includes a main dish, appetiser, chawanmushi, and soup. The more popular Gozen sets here are Beef Rice with Hot Spring Egg Set ($17.90++) and Chicken Cutlet with Scrambled Egg Sauce Set ($18.90++).

Promotion: Get a Gozen set free (Z1-Z3) with every three sets ordered.

3. MEET – free beef chilli fries with two mains ordered

This includes Mussel Prawn with Risotto ($20), which comes with a pan of tasty seafood and a portion of creamy mushroom risotto. Self-proclaimed carnivores with an appetite to boot should get Honey Spiced Roasted Chicken ($18). As if 1.2 kilograms worth of chicken isn’t enough, this dish comes with a generous side of buttery mashed potatoes.

Promotion: Get a free plate of Beef Chilli Fries (U.P. $8) by ordering two or more main courses.

4. Paddington House Of Pancakes – free dessert with three mains ordered

Paddington House of Pancakes is a one-stop shop for brunch fans. They have dessert options, such as Blueberry Cheesecake Pancakes ($15++) that come with thick pancakes, rich cream cheese filling, and fresh blueberries.

You can also order savoury pancakes, which are considerably rarer to find than sweet ones. Olden ($15++) embodies the ideal brunch dish, with slices of briny smoked salmon, guacamole, fresh parmesan, and scrambled eggs tucked into a buckwheat galette.

If you’re here for brunch with the gang, order a few glasses of Iced Mint Green Tea ($4++) or, as I call it, a refreshing mojito sans alcohol.

Promotion: Get a free dessert with every three main courses ordered.

Address: 180 Kitchener Road, #03-53/55, City Square Mall, Singapore 208539

For those who enjoy milder flavours, opt for Genki Herbal Chicken Pan Mee ($12.90). This dish comprises traditional herbal soup, tender chicken, and enoki mushrooms, making it a satisfying meal without having to deal with a spicy aftermath.
