There is also a three-course set lunch at $15++, featuring Mexican classics such as fajitas with spinach rice and tortilla. Their Crispy Roll Taquitos is a must-try. 6. McGettigan’s

Nothing shouts “drinking night” more than an Irish pub in the heart of Clarke Quay. McGettigan’s is a watering hole which serves classic Western dishes from lunchtime onwards. Their Lunch Sets go at $15++ and include pan-fried salmon, sous vide beef fillet, and different types of pasta. We recommend the beef as the sous vide method of cooking locks the meat’s juices in, keeping it moist while allowing the steak to soak up the flavours of the marinade.

7. Tsui Wah

Foodies rejoiced when Tsui Wah made its debut in Singapore with its first flagship outlet in Clarke Quay. Now there is more reason for celebration as the famous Hong Kong cha chaan teng is offering a two-course set lunch at $25++ for two people. Keep a lookout for their signature Kagoshima-style Braised Pork Cartilage Noodles that sports chunks of pork cartilage that have been stewed till tender, then laid atop a bed of springy ke kou mian.

They’re also having a Happy hour Promotion that gives 50% off all alcoholic drinks from 2:30pm to 11:30pm daily. This promotion is valid till 6 April 2020, and you can look forward to Red and white wine, Tiger , Heineken, Guinness, and Corona beers from as low as $5.

8. Fremantle Seafood Market

Head to Fremantle Seafood Market for your fresh seafood fix. Inspired by the Australian city that’s known for seafood, the restaurant offers their signature Fish & Chips and Fremantle Seafood Aglio Olio in their selection of main courses for the two-course set lunch ($15++). The former stars flaky white fish with crispy batter and a side of straight-cut fries. The latter features al dente fettuccine, lightly doused in olive oil and garlic specks; this is great for those who love savouring fresh seafood with simple pasta.

9. Da Miao Hotpot

Da Miao Hotpot is a well-known mala hotpot restaurant from Sichuan that will leave your tongue numb and you perspiring to no end. They have a hotpot set lunch for two which is worth $107++, but will only be priced at $68++ during lunchtime.

The set comes with their Da Miao Yuan Yang Soup Base, a choice of three types of meat, accompanying ingredients, and a beverage to soothe your tongue. My favourite soups to order are the tangy and shiok mala base and the collagen-rich mushroom and pork bone broth. One tip is to dip your sliced meat into each soup base for a short while to savour a luscious mix of both flavours!

10. Xiao Chen Gu Shi

Whether you’re entertaining clients or just craving for some feel-good local food, Xiao Chen Gu Shi is an easy lunch stop to get your bak kut teh fix. This peppery bak kut teh has deep flavours as a result of cooking pork bones for many hours. If you’re hankering for a second helping, you can even ask for a refill of the flavourful soup. Their set lunch offers value for money, with a choice of a main course, two sides, rice, and a beverage going at just $10++.

11. The Ranch Steakhouse by Astons

What sets The Ranch Steakhouse apart from its sister chain, Astons, is its dry-aged and premium steaks. Because of an added ageing process, the steaks lose excess moisture and gain a more concentrated meaty flavour as compared to regular steak. The enzymes in the beef are also given time to break down tough muscle fibers, making the meat extra tender.

With the quality meat served here, prices are considerably steeper, especially if you’re looking at the better cuts. A tip would be to get their lunch deals which offer their 250-gram Hand-Selected NZ Striploin Steak at $18.80++ or the 150-gram Pepper Crusted Japanese Wagyu at $25++.

Address: 3B River Valley Road, #01-15, Block B, Singapore 179021

12. RENNthai

Overlooking the Singapore River, RENNthai is the place to go for a scenic lunch and Clarke Quay lunch deals. If you’re craving for some classic Thai flavours, their two-course set lunch ($15++) will satiate your hunger with a serving of tom yum soup and calamansi drink, along with a choice of main course.

The Phad Thai is definitely a hot favourite, but we recommend going for their Phad Kra Pow Gai, better known as basil chicken rice with egg. It is spiked with aromatic sweet Thai basil and served with a generous helping of succulent, stir-fried chicken chunks.

13. Bayang

At Bayang, you’ll be transported back to your Bali vacay with the spread of traditional Indonesian dishes and Balinese decor. Eat your fill with the three-course set ($15++), which includes an appetiser, main course, dessert, and beverage. Our pick would be their Curry Rice with Satay Chicken as it is perfumed with spices and grilled till it’s wrapped in a smoky aroma.

14. Hutong

The Chinese decor at Hutong sets it starkly apart from neighboring bars and bistros. The atas surroundings might signal a pricey menu, but their two-course set lunch is thankfully a steal. At $15++, you get an appetiser, a main course, and a beverage.

Main course choices include their flavourful Fried Noodles with XO sauce and Seafood Fried Rice with Caviar. The fried rice is fragrant with a tinge of wok hei, while the caviar adds small bursts of briny flavour.

16. Marutama Ramen

Unlike the other places on our list, Marutama Ramen’s affordable prices are available throughout the day. What’s great about their ramen is that they serve the noodles in chicken broth instead of the commonly seen pork bone broth for a lighter taste. At $12++, you can get the signature Marutama Ramen topped with a classic half-boiled tamago and large slices of juicy chashu.

For sides, their Yaki Char Siew ($6++) is my personal favourite, thanks to its melt-in-your-mouth texture and smoky aroma. If you’re not in the mood for noodles, they also sell Char Siew Rice at only $5++.

17. Upin Hotpot

While Upin Hotpot is often compared to Hai Di Lao thanks to their tableside entertainment, this hidden gem in Clarke Quay Central is much more budget-friendly.

With the $16.80++ set lunch, you can choose from five different types of meat including chicken, fish, mutton, and American beef. Furthermore, for every two sets you buy, you get one complimentary soup base. A must-order would be their tomato soup base which comes with chunks of soft tomatoes. As you swish your shabu shabu in the pot, the meat is naturally sweetened by the refreshing broth.

The classic Gangnam Corndog goes at $4.50, and their most popular item is the Mozza Corndog ($4.90). This Korean street food is made up of a sausage surrounded by a hefty layer of deep-fried, sugar coated, batter and cheese.
