Deanna’s Kitchen To Open Another Outlet At Woodlands Serving Their Famous Halal Prawn Noodles

From a small stall at Toa Payoh West Market to outlets in Jurong and Bedok, it seems Deanna’s Kitchen is set to pull a Daenerys Targaryen and conquer all of Singapore with yet another outlet – this time in the North of Singapore at Woodlands.

Specialising in halal prawn noodles, this seafood noodles stall has garnered a strong following thanks to their umami-packed broth. Replacing pork bones with more prawn shells and anchovies, the dark brown broth is extremely rich and will leave you craving for another bowl.

For Northies who never like to venture out of their area, you can rejoice, as the owners have been sourcing around Woodlands for a place to open their fourth outlet. If you’re on a budget, the Regular Prawn Mee will be an ideal choice at $4 a bowl. Like most of their bowls, it comes in both soup and dry versions. That being said, we recommend the former if it’s your first time. In it, you will find fresh prawns, noodles and sliced fish cakes.

Aside from the recommended yellow noodles, you can also choose bee hoon, kway teow or laksa noodles. Order a mix of all three if you like multiple textures in your food.

For something with a sweeter tang, order the Big Prawn & Clams Mee ($9), which comes filled with lala clams. We much prefer the broth here, as it had more layers of flavours. If $9 is too steep for a hawker meal, you can opt for their $7 Clams & Prawn Mee instead. We personally don’t think the size of prawns matter, as even the smaller prawns are nice and juicy.

We expect Deanna’s Kitchen to be a hot spot for families, thanks to their Seafood Platter ($39). Great for sharing between three to four hungry diners, the XXL bowl comes brimming with prawns, clams, an entire lobster, crayfish and big prawns. It’s a massive seafood bowl that’s worth every penny, and you will definitely leave feeling satisfied.
