My family and I love visiting Swensen’s for special occasions because it’s a homely and nostalgic restaurant with tasty food and popular ice creams. Just like some of us, Swensen’s took on a glow-up in the recent decade, with two atas outlets in VivoCity and Jewel Changi Airport, known as Earle Swensen’s, offering an exclusive menu you wouldn’t find at their other outlets.Â
What’s different here is that you’ll find improved signature dishes, a free-flow salad bar buffet , and their newest creations, including the Big S Sundae! These XXL sundaes come in three flavours: The Unicorn, Pink on Fleek, and Chocasaurus. These humongous desserts, priced at $67++ each, are great for a fun get-together, good for five to six people a cup.Â
Go for The Unicorn, a dessert that’s almost too cute to eat! This stars a mint pudding base, fruit loops, and scoops of Strawberry, Yam ice cream, and Mint Chip gelato. You’ll also find strawberries, banana slices, and wafer biscuits wedged in between scoops, packed with purple whipped cream swirls, and topped with rainbow marshmallows, sprinkles, and unicorn toppers.Â
Alternatively, if you’re a full-on chocolate or strawberry lover, get Pink on Fleek, a strawberry-themed sundae, featuring Wild Strawberry gelato, while the Chocasaurus is packed with Sticky Chewy Chocolate and Cookies ‘N’ Cream ice cream, as well as Hazelnut gelato.Â
Pair these desserts with their savoury signature mains! Try the Pan Seared Chicken with Creamy Tomato Sauce ($17++) which boasts a crispy herbaceous chicken leg on a slice of sourdough toast and creamy sauce made with San Marzano tomato paste.Â
Otherwise, if you’re a fan of seafood, opt for The Fisherman ($18++) that has spaghetti in Marinara sauce, topped with fresh, succulent grilled king prawns, and tossed with blue mussels and squid.Â
You can also choose from the variety of over 20 items at the Salad Buffet. Customise your own salad bowls, with hot soup and freshly toasted bread. If you choose to have these on top of your mains, you only have to top up $6++. Otherwise, you can still enjoy the offerings of the salad bar on its own, for the price of $20++.
On the drinks front, there’s Mango Siloso ($7++) which sees refreshing and sweet mango juice topped with fragrant pandan and coconut cream. Alternatively, they also have Under Watermelon World ($6++) which is a mix of sparkling lemonade and watermelon.Â
Do note that the Big S Sundae is only available for dine-in at Earle Swensen’s VivoCity. If you’re a Cool Rewards Member, you also get a 20% discount during your birthday month.
In other ice cream news, Creamier has 1-for-1 waffles that’s available for a limited time only! Alternatively, for more food in the mall, check out our guide to the best VivoCity food spots.Â
