There are plenty of Vietnamese eateries in Singapore, from trendy cafes such as Le Café Vie5 and Lucky Saigon, to underrated hawker stalls including Banh Mi Be Bit. Here’s another one to add to the list: Eminami Halal Vietnam in Old Airport Road Food Centre.

This Muslim-owned hawker stall offers a concise menu with popular Vietnamese dishes that are halal-certified.

Start with the Fresh Spring Rolls ($5 for three), which star fresh prawns and veggies hand-rolled in translucent rice paper. Pair it with their tangy chilli dip for extra flavour. These rolls are said to sell out fast, so make sure you drop by earlier to get your fix!

Eminami Halal Vietnam is known for their Pho Bo ($6) AKA beef noodles soup, which stars a rich stock made with beef bones, beef shank, onions, herbs, and spices.

Regulars also love the Spicy ($6) version. This hearty bowl features thick rice noodles, handmade chicken meatballs, meatloaf, tender beef shank, fresh veggies and herbs, swimming in a spicy and aromatic broth that’s simmered with lemongrass and citrus.

There is only one rice dish on the menu: Com Tam ($5) AKA grilled chicken with broken rice. It’s a comforting meal comprising Vietnamese steamed egg with mushroom and chicken, a slab of grilled chicken chop that’s marinated in lemongrass and fish sauce, and fluffy rice, served with sweet dip on the side.

As for those who love bread, you can try their Banh Mi ($5), available in two flavours: Grilled Chicken or Beef.
