Whenever I express my craving for fresh pasta, I often encounter responses such as “fresh pasta is costly” or “Why do you want to be so atas?”. However, I’d like to challenge this common misconception. Fresh, handmade pasta doesn’t have to break the bank, and to prove my point, I’ve compiled a list of 12 restaurants in Singapore with affordable fresh pasta. Some of these places offer build-your-own pasta options too, allowing you to customise your meal just the way you like it!
Table of Contents
Pasta lovers may be familiar with Tipo Pasta Bar, a Muslim-owned restaurant that specialises in handmade pasta. Formerly located along North Bridge Road, they’ve since relocated to a larger space along Aliwal Street, which is an eight-minute walk from Lavender MRT Station. Here, you can Build Your Own Pasta for a base price of $9.90++, and enjoy 120g of any pasta on the daytimes menu.
Some unique pasta options include Radiatori, which are short, squat pasta with ruffled edges; Creste De Gallo, characterised by its curved tubular shape; and Gemelli, which sees single s-shaped pasta strands twisted into a spiral. We recommend pairing the pasta with their fragrant pink sauce, a tomato cream pasta with aromatic floral undertones.

With a few outlets across the country, Tangled is a chain offering an assortment of fresh, handmade pasta from only $10.90. There are four types of pasta here: fusilli, spaghetti, pappardelle ricce, and penne. Go for their most popular choice—Truffle Shuffle Shrooms ($12.90), starring sauteed mushrooms laid on a bed of mushroom pappardelle ricce in creamy truffle sauce, topped with a poached egg.
If you’re ordering for takeaway, you won’t have to worry about soggy pasta too, as their packaging separates the noodles from the sauce.

A popular takeaway pasta kiosk is PastaGo, which has four outlets on the island. Similar to Tangled, Pastago offers fresh, customisable pasta in a variety of shapes, flavours, and toppings. The ordering process is simple—choose your preferred flavour, pasta shape, and add-ons, if any.
Their cheapest item is the Aglio e OIio ($5.70), featuring long strands of al dente pasta coated in a generous amount of olive oil, garlic, and chilli flakes. For a more filling meal, you can also add on $2 for grilled chicken or seared prawns.

If you’re ordering off the menu, we recommend their Truffle Cacio E Pepe ($22.90), made with a secret pepper mix, Pecorino Romano cheese, and a dash of truffle oil. It’s said to be peppery, savoury, and super creamy too.

Kucina is a hidden gem at KINEX with pasta that’s said to be so good, they garnered multiple visits from former president Halimah Yacob herself. The Muslim-friendly eatery wows with their famous Spaghetti Alla Carbonara ($26.90++) that’s tossed with beef guanciale in egg yolk, black pepper, and grana padano cheese sauce. If you’re a fan of tomato sauce-based pasta, opt for their Paccheri Pomodoro E Stracciatella ($26.90++) instead. This vegan number sees tubed-shaped pasta drenched in a creamy tomato sauce, then topped with basil and Stracciatella, a traditional Italian cheese.

The food here is pretty affordable, with the Uni ($23.90++) being the only item priced above $20. The price tag goes up if you opt for fresh pasta ($4++). More affordable options include Canelli Reppiene de Agnello ($18.90++), AKA lamb ragu canelli, and Gnocchi ($14.90++), served with a nutty pesto sauce.

The fresh house-made pasta at Chicco Pasta Bar starts from just $18++ for a plate of Rigatoni Carbonara—perfected with just egg, pepper, and guanciale, which is how carbonara should be made. Other good options include the Spaghetti Seafood Aglio Olio ($24++), which comes with a generous amount of seafood including squid, prawns, and clams, tossed in olive oil and garlic and then topped with some parsley for garnish. There’s also the Gramigna ($20++), served with tender pork ragu and topped with sliced cheese.

You may have seen the perpetually long queues at the entrance of Raffles City, all formed by people eager to get a taste of Casa Vostra. Aside from their acclaimed pizzas, the restaurant is also known for its fresh, house-made pasta dishes. These include the Crab, Tagliatelle ($26++), which comes with a generous amount of tender crab flesh, tomato confit, and a sauce made using olive oil, garlic, and butter. While Bar Cicheti’s offerings are pricier than most options on this list, they’ve got a few freshly-made pasta options under $30++ to check out. Take the Smoked Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe ($28++), for instance, which is fired up on the grill for smokiness and char, then added to a pan with butter and Sarawak black pepper, before it’s served with Pecorino Romano and aged Parmigiana Reggiano. There’s also the Troffie alla Genovese ($28++), a traditional Ligurian dish made with trofie pasta, Sicilian pistachio, basil, parmigiano reggiano and more.
