Geylang Serai Bazaar 2025 Guide: 10 Stalls For Famous Cloud Bread, Paddle Pop Kunafa And More

Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2025 food guide

The annual Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar is back at Wisma Geylang Serai! This year, you can expect a wide range of food and beverage kiosks, from Penang-famous roti awan to colourful kunafa desserts. The Ramadan fair runs from 26 February to 31 March 2025, 10am to 11:59pm daily, so make sure you read our Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2025 food guide before heading down with the fam.

1. Roti Awan

When we arrived at Geylang Serai in the late afternoon, we were immediately drawn by the snaking queue at Roti Awan. This viral brand from Penang is known for their roti awan, which translates to “cloud bread”—steamed-to-order buns loaded with your choice of filling.

There are over 10 flavours to choose from, with a minimum order of three pieces in a box. Our picks were Matcha ($5), Kaya Kelapa ($5), and Rose Bandung Biscoff ($6): rose-flavoured cream with Biscoff crumbs and rose bits on top. The latter was our favourite as it did not taste too sweet or artificial; the smooth custard had a faint rose fragrance that didn’t overpower, pairing well with the fluffy and light bread.

2. Crispy Kunafa

Crispy Kunafa was the second stall that caught our eye at the bazaar—here you get a whopping total of 16 kunafa flavours to pick from! We were drawn in by the Blue Paddle Pop Kunafa ($14), drenched in a striking pastel blue cream and finished with Fruity Pebbles cereal.

Sadly, this dessert was nothing like the Paddle Pop we know and love. It didn’t have the familiar caramel and toffee notes of the rainbow ice cream, tasting like melted white chocolate instead. We found it too sweet for our liking, though thankfully, the crispy kunafa pastry and stretchy cheese helped to cut through some of the richness. Nonetheless, it’s a great sharing option if you have a sweet tooth!

3. Shake ah Shake

Take a break from the sweets and head to Shake ah Shake for their deep-fried snacks: loaded fries, crispy nuggets and more. We bought the Nashville Hot Mozzarella ($12) as it appeared different from the usual mozzarella cheese sticks. You get four thick slabs of mozzarella, coated in a house-made batter, then deep-fried till golden brown on the outside.

The crispy, savoury coating gave way to the ultimate cheese pull. We also enjoyed the tangy ranch dip that tasted similar to Wingstop’s version, which elevated the mild flavour of the mozzarella. Our only gripe was that these cheese sticks were not spicy at all, despite their name.

4. Sauzed

For IG-worthy fries topped with a variety of colourful sauces, visit Sauzed. We saw the staff shaping these potato fries and deep-frying them in small batches, to order.

There are two options available, Original Long Fries ($10.90) and Long Fries with Sauce ($12.90). We went for the latter, which included a box of piping-hot fries drizzled with three sauces of our choice: Wasabi, Sweet Potato, and Corn. While we enjoyed the fries, which were crispy outside and fluffy within, we were disappointed with the sauces, which simply tasted like sweet mayo. We recommend getting the original version if you prioritise taste over aesthetics.

5. The Piccadily

Quench your thirst with The Piccadily‘s range of drinks, including their newly launched Galaxy Drinks ($8). These bottled beverages are infused with edible glitter, making them extra fun to enjoy. You can pick from six refreshing flavours: Lychee, Strawberry, Blueberry, Lemon, Peach, and Passionfruit. Pro tip: Slowly tilt the bottle and capture the mesmerising sparkle on your phone cam.

The kiosk also offers coffee if you want a caffeinated pick-me-up!

The Piccadilly uses halal-certified ingredients.

6. Ranor Tenggiri Fresh Otah

You won’t miss Ranor Tenggiri Fresh Otah as it’s located near the main entrance of Geylang Serai Ramadan bazaar. You’ll find a wide variety of otah at this kiosk, handmade fresh on-site.

Highlights include Scallop Otah ($1.50), Prawn Otah ($1.50), and Crab Otah ($1.50); these otah feature a spicy, umami-packed fish paste studded with their respective protein. There’s also the Original Fish Otah ($4 for five) if you prefer sticking to the classics. We enjoyed these delicious, easy-to-eat snacks while walking around the fair!

7. Meat My Meat

Meat My Meat is a festival favourite that has returned to the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar this year. The homegrown brand specialises in Philly cheesesteaks, where beef slices are packed in bread and blanketed with gooey cheese.

Their Mozza Philly Cheesesteak ($11.90) is a must-try. Here, thin strips of well-seasoned beef are topped with cheese, then blow-torched for a smoky, melty finish. Everything is held together by a sweet brioche bun. Each main comes with a side of fries, though you can order the latter a la carte in a good range of flavours: Cheesesteak Fries ($10.90), Truffle Fries W Parmesan Cheese ($9.90) and more.

8. Mahmud’s Tandoor

Fill up on a hearty burger at Mahmud’s Tandoor, a highly rated, award-winning eatery known for their tandoori chicken burgers. We recommend the Crispy Doori (from $12), where a deep-fried tandoori chicken thigh is layered with harissa mayo and cheese, and then stacked between two brioche buns. If you want something less greasy, consider The OG (from $12) as it swaps out the crispy chicken for a baked version.

Wash everything down with their Chai Peng Slush ($5): ice-blended milk tea.

9. Thai Dessert House

Thai Fried Banana is a perennial staple at most food festivals. You can get your fix of this deep-fried snack at Thai Dessert House, priced at $6 for a packet of seven pieces. These bananas are fried in small batches so you’re getting them fresh and crispy, with a sweet and moist middle.

The kiosk is also selling Sweet Potato Balls for the same price. These golden-brown orbs are said to be slightly crispy, with a mochi-like, chewy middle that’s also sweet and fragrant. They’re one of the best snacks to enjoy while you jalan jalan through the bazaar.

Thai Dessert House is not a halal-certified stall but uses no pork or lard.

10. Kwazy Korndog

Another returning bazaar favourite is Kwazy Korndog, where you’ll find a lineup of sweet-savoury corndogs filled with cheese.

For the best cheese pull, you’ll want to go for their Cheesy Corndog ($5.50), starring a generous amount of gooey mozzarella cheese in the middle. The deep-fried corndog is coated with sugar for added sweetness and crunch. There’s also a Buldak Ramen Corndog ($7) that combines sausage and mozzarella with crushed ramyeon on the outside! Besides savoury options, the kiosk offers dessert versions such as Biscoff Corndog ($7), Nutella Corndog ($7), and even a Kunafa Corndog (price TBD) that rides on the kunafa dessert trend.
