If you’re craving Italian food, Gus Pizzeria serves authentic Neapolitan-style pizza and pasta made with fresh, imported Italian ingredients. Founded by Chef Ghazali Ibrahim, the Muslim-owned pizza joint was originally located at Goldhill Plaza in Novena before recently relocating to East Village in Simpang Bedok.

Their pizza dough is fermented for at least 72 hours for that perfectly soft texture and thin crust with puffy edges. A classic flavour is the Margherita ($15), which consists of their house-made tomato sauce topped with mozzarella cheese and basil. Another must-try is the Salami ($18), which features a Pomodoro tomato sauce base topped with mozzarella cheese and cured sausage.

You can also choose from their in-house specials in addition to the classics. Go for the Quattro Formaggi ($20), which is made with four different types of cheese—mozzarella, gorgonzola, Grana Padano, and pecorino. If you’re feeling fancy, try the Wagyu Pizza ($28), which features their house-made tomato sauce, thinly sliced Wagyu beef, mozzarella cheese, sweet sauce, and black pepper. Top-up an extra $4.50 to your order if you want your pizza to be folded into a calzone.

Aside from pizza, they also serve two types of pasta: Prawn Aglio Olio ($15.90) and Bolognese Pasta ($15.90). Save more when you order their combo bundles; go for the Classic Combo ($29.90, U.P. $38.90), which includes a classic pizza, a pasta dish, and a canned drink. This set feeds up to two individuals.
