This New Tampines Food Court Has Famous Koung’s Wan Tan Mee, Tai Wah Pork Noodle And More

Hawkers’ Street is a new Tampines 1 food court with Michelin stalls

It’s great to be an Eastie, with so many up-and-coming food options in the area—think the newly opened Pasir Ris Mall, Bai Wei Mini Bowl at Singpost Centre and more. Now, there’s yet another exciting launch: Hawkers’ Street at Tampines 1 is a new food court with 12 stalls, including famous names and Michelin-approved brands!

The food court, which has another outlet at ION Orchard, is located on Level 5 of Tampines 1 mall. The space sits up to 238 diners, making it three times bigger than their ION location.

Fans of the famous Koung’s Wan Tan Mee will be happy to know that they can get their wonton noodle fix here. Order the signature Dry Wanton Mee ($5.90), starring al dente egg noodles tossed in a chilli sauce and lard mix, topped with char siew and fresh greens. You also get a small box of wonton on the side.

Michelin Bib Gourmand stall Tai Wah Pork Noodle also makes an appearance here, with their popular Pork Noodle (from $5) AKA bak chor mee available here.

If you want more noods, we recommend Jiak Song Mee Hoon Kway for their Signature Mee Hoon Kway ($6.30), served dry and loaded with minced pork, pork slices, pork ball, and shrimp ball. We loved the hint of smokiness in this bowl!

Alternatively, if rice is your preferred choice of carb, the Michelin-approved Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice is another noteworthy pick. Order the Duo Chicken Rice Set ($8.50): fragrant chicken rice, white and roasted chicken, and a side serving of bol choy.

Other must-try stalls include the famous Garden Street Kway Chap, which offers a value-for-money 1 Person Set at $6.50, and Nikmat Nasi Lemak by HUSK, an offshoot of HUSK Nasi Lemak in Bugis.

While you’re there, check out the other new openings at Tampines 1, including Mister Donut and Fieldnotes! Alternatively, read our guide to the best Bedok cafes for more food options in the East.
