Dessert lovers, we have exciting news: Hej Cake is a new bakery in town that specialises in custom cakes! Their menu ranges from fresh classic fruit cakes to indulgent Basque cheesecakes, both available in six and eight-inch sizes.

I was most attracted to their Shine Muscat Grape Cake ($85.00–$110.00), featuring sweet Shine Muscat grapes layered with classic Chantilly cream atop a light and airy vanilla chiffon base. As a muscat grape lover, I’d say this cake is a mus-cat for me!

If you love mochi, you have to treat yourself to their Taro and Red Bean Mochi Cake ($85.00–$110.00). This features a specially blended soy milk cream atop a black sesame chiffon base, complemented by handmade red bean mochi and a rich, hand-cooked taro paste. Even better, this is topped with huge chunks of house-made mochi balls for a QQ texture.

For a rich and hearty flavour, try their Hazelnut Chocolate Banana Cake ($95.00–$120.00): chocolate cream atop a light cocoa chiffon base, layered with fresh bananas and a medley of mixed nuts.

For a refreshing twist, go for their Bursting Watermelon Cake ($85.00–$110.00). You get a luscious pistachio cream atop a soft red velvet chiffon base, complemented by juicy fresh watermelon and smooth Chantilly cream.

The new bakery is located on Jalan Sultan, just a 10-minute walk from Lavender MRT Station. It’s led by a Chinese baker-influencer who began her baking career in Nanjing in 2016. With a decade of experience under her belt, her cakes are worth a try if you’re in the area!
