Hellu Coffee: New CBD Cafe Has Sesame Croffles, Matcha Sweet Cream Espresso And More

Hellu Coffee has specialty coffee, croffles and more in the CBD

For those who need a quick pick-me-up, here’s a new cafe for you! Located in Far East Square is Hellu Coffee, where you can treat yourself to buttery croffles, fragrant coffee, and a signature line of drinks topped with dollops of sweet cream.

Bask in the cozy atmosphere of the small, 16-seat cafe that’s just a one-minute walk away from Telok Ayer MRT Station. The clean, minimalist interior is accented with warm lighting and earthly, wooden elements to make the ideal spot for a chill hang-out with friends. Pets are also welcome at the outdoor seating area of the cafe.

Be sure to try their stuffed croffles, which are all priced at $7.90 each. Currently, the menu features the sweet Sesame Cream Croffle and the savoury Maple Bacon, Spicy Tuna, and Ham And Cheese Croffle. You can also get a Plain Croffle for $5.50.

Each croffle comes with light, buttery insides and a sweet, crispy outside. For filled croffles, your choice of filling is also generously and evenly spread throughout the warm pastry for a satisfying meal.

Their one other food item on the menu is the chonky Egg Mayo Roundwich ($5). Creamy egg mayo is piled high between sweet burger bun halves, creating the roundest, fattest eggwich you’ll ever see.

Hellu Coffee’s menu is mostly dominated by their selection of drinks, from refreshing teas such as the Earl Grey- and elderflower-infused Summer Blossom Tea ($6.50) to their range of specialty coffees and Creamus.

Inspired by the German Einspanner coffee, Creamus are Hellu Coffee’s signature drink, with whipped cream added to coffee, matcha, or chocolate. We recommend getting the Iced Matcha Creamu ($8.90), as the thick, bitter matcha nicely balances out the sweetness of the house-made cream topping.

In other news, Kinber Kopi is another new cafe in the CBD area with cheap, trendy sandos nearby. Also, check out our Catbake Review to read about the new Star Vista cafe with viral Japanese cat-shaped buns!
