If someone told me I could pick only one cuisine to stick to for the rest of my life, I’d go with Japanese cuisine in a heartbeat. I love how their dishes seem so simple, yet are so delicious. Because of my love for Japanese fare, I’ve compiled a list of 21 Japanese buffets that serve up a stellar assortment of sushi and other Japanese dishes.


1. Irodori Japanese Restaurant


It is no surprise that Irodori Japanese Restaurant often sees a queue for their a la carte buffet ($39.80++). Dig into their wide variety of agemono, or deep-fried dishes, and free-flow slices of fresh sashimi that don’t skimp on thickness. Don’t leave without having tried their signature Irodori Maki, which is a maki roll stuffed with a creamy lobster filling and rolled in tobiko.

2. Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant


Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant is my go-to spot whenever my Japanese cravings hit me hard, and I’ll treat myself to their Omizu A La Carte Buffet ($62.90++). Feast on their extensive menu featuring over 200 dishes, where you’ll find a wide variety of sashimi, steamed options, deep-fried delights and more! Be sure to order the Ebi Tempura for its crispy batter and succulent, meaty prawns. The restaurant also serves up an array of grilled dishes, with notable highlights such as Yoniku Teriyaki, a lamb chop grilled with sweet soya sauce, and Gyutan Shioyaki, just to name a few. Plus, their fuss-free ordering system via a tablet makes it incredibly easy and quick to order more food.

One of the more popular Japanese buffet restaurants in town is Kiseki Japanese Buffet Restaurant, located on the eighth floor of Orchard Central which offers a wonderful view of the bustling Orchard Road. Lunch will set you back at $29.80++ while dinner is priced at $45.80++ per person. You can find a range of tempura, sushi, teppanyaki, and skewers here. For a broader selection with premium dishes, it’s highly recommended to go during dinner, which includes rotating items such as snow crab legs, oysters, robatayaki crayfish and more.

Shin Yuu Japanese Restaurant might be a little inaccessible by public transport, but their A La Carte Buffet ($41.90++ for lunch, $59.90++ for dinner) is worth the trip down. Specialising in maki rolls and sushi, this is where sushi lovers should head to. Be sure to have your fill of their signature Shin Yuu Special Aburi Sushi featuring torched salmon topped with a dollop of creamy mentaiko sauce. Tip: head down during dinner to enjoy Toro Sashimi, Taraba Kani, Zuwa Kani Tempura and ice cream!

5. Hokkaido Sushi Restaurant

Located at M Hotel in Tanjong Pagar, Hokkaido Sushi Restaurant prides themselves in dishing out both classic and contemporary Japanese dishes. You can expect a variety of sashimi, maki, temaki, agemono and more here. Prices start at $47++ for lunch, while the dinner buffet is priced at $52++. Some crowd favourite sushi items are Garlic Miso Aburi Salmon and Mentai Aburi Ebi. Otherwise, other popular picks from the deep-fried and stir-fried goodies on the menu include Soft Shell Crab and Gyoza.

The A La Carte Buffet at Mitsuba boasts over 150 dishes, including sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, agemono, donburi and more. For starters, go for one of their chef’s picks, Wagyu Beef Maki, before diving into their hot dishes. As for the mains, the Garlic Fried Rice, Unagi Fried Rice, and Paitan Ramen are great options to go for. Priced at $59.90++ daily, for both lunch and dinner, this buffet gives big eaters a bang for their buck! Round it off with some ice cream, featuring flavours such as Strawberry and Lychee.

7. Himawari Japanese Restaurant

Himawari Japanese Restaurant serves up a solid variety of sashimi including salmon, swordfish, and yellowtail. Their a la carte buffet will set you back $52.80++ for lunch and $56.80++ for dinner on Mondays to Thursdays. From Fridays to Sundays, the buffet is priced at $56.80++ for lunch and $59.80++ for dinner. Himawari also offers sukiyaki hotpot with your choice of soup for each table, paired with thinly sliced marbled beef, and other meats too. Do note that a minimum of two diners is required to dine at this buffet.

8. Ikoi Japanese Restaurant

Tucked deep inside Hotel Miramar at Havelock, Ikoi is a hidden gem in central Singapore. Their a la carte buffet ($50++) draws in both the lunch and dinner crowds and has remained a constant crowd favourite for their value-for-money grub over the years. Their extensive menu features sashimi, sushi, handrolls, grilled dishes, deep-fried dishes, noodles, and rice options. You can expect sashimi that’s freshly prepared upon order and sliced into thick pieces.

9. Tajimaya Yakiniku


Tajimaya Yakiniku serves up a tantalising yakiniku Wagyu feast that ought to satisfy any meat lover. Their Premium Wagyu Buffet is priced at $59.90++ for weekday lunch, while the weekday dinner buffet costs $69.90++, and includes a mouthwatering selection of well-marbled wagyu slices that you can cook to your preferred doneness. Also keep an eye out for their other Japanese side dishes such as chawanmushi, garlic fried rice, and sashimi. Do note that there’s a maximum time limit of 100 minutes at both lunch and dinner.

10. Rocku Yakiniku


Rocku Yakiniku offers a relatively affordable free-flow yakiniku experience, at $24.90++ for their lunch buffet, and $29.90++ for their dinner buffet, from Monday to Thursday. If you’re dining there on a weekend, it’s priced at an additional $3++. Go on an all-meat galore with options such as beef chuck roll, kimchi pork jowl, smoked duck, and a variety of seafood to choose from. Alternatively, vegetable lovers can opt for dishes such as eggplant, enoki with butter, sweet corn and more instead.

11. SUKI-YA


A popular choice among hotpot lovers, SUKI-YA is one of the few Japanese buffets that specialise in Japanese-inspired sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. There’s no need to be afraid of burning a hole in your wallet here as their lunch buffets are going at just $22.90++, every Monday to Thursday, and $27.90++ on Friday to Sunday. Choose from six different broths, including a hearty pork-based broth and fresh soya miso, a nutritious and milky broth. This meaty feast gives access to chicken, pork, and beef, and you get to pick from three different dips: ponzu, sesame, and fresh egg.

12. Kushi Japanese Dining

Serving up an impressive repertoire of Japanese fare, Kushi Japanese Dining has something for everyone, with a variety of sashimi, fried dishes, tempura, grilled skewers and more. Go for the A La Carte Buffet, priced at $52.80++ for lunch and $56.80++ for dinner daily. There’s a wide selection of cooked dishes that are specially made to order, such as gyoza, fried squid head, pumpkin croquette and more. If you’re feeling luxe, consider ordering from their add-on menu and enjoy premium items including Uni Sea Urchin ($16.80++) and Black Angus Beef ($16.80++) among many other options.

13. Tenkaichi


At Tenkaichi,  they serve meats and sashimi at their buffet which are sliced to order. Opt from three choices of buffet starting from $21.90++ for lunch, and $32.90++ for dinner: Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. There are quite a few cuts of meat to choose from at their Deluxe Buffet, including thin-cut Wagyu shabu shabu, and Angus ribeye steak. Make sure to leave room in your tummy for sashimi, of which you can choose from fish such as salmon, tuna, and sea bream.

14. Yakiniku Heijoen


Housed in 100AM, Yakiniku Heijoen offers all-you-can-eat grilled meats on two different buffet menus. The first is their Rich Buffet Course, priced at $58++ per person. This gives you access to over 50 items, including a slew of delicious beef cuts such as short plate, tongue, hanging tender steak as well as pork and chicken options too, for 90 minutes. For those keen to splurge, try their Premium Wagyu Buffet Course ($78++ per person), which includes all items on the rich menu, with premium additions such as A5 Wagyu Kalbi and Hokkaido Pork Belly.

15. Shabu Sai

Expect unlimited shabu shabu goodness at Shabu Sai’s nine outlets around Singapore. Their lunch buffet prices start at just $18.99++ from Mondays to Fridays, and $22.99++ on weekends, while dinner buffet prices start at $25.99++ from Mondays to Thursdays, and $27.99++ from Fridays to Sundays. Every month, you can look forward to a new seasonal special soup base to try! Otherwise, pick from seven different broths including Tonkotsu and Tom Yam Miso to accompany your all-you-can-eat meat and vegetables, with more than 60 items3 to choose from. Note that dining is limited to 70 minutes a session.

16. En Dining

En Dining is one of the more popular Japanese buffets in Singapore, known for their selection of Okinawa fare among the regular dishes of free-flow sashimi, agemono, hotpot, sushi, shabu shabu and more. These include champuru, a type of Okinawan stir-fry, and Rafute, a traditional Okinawa-style braised cha shu, featuring tender pork slices that melt in the mouth. 

Fans of mentaiko would be happy to know that they have multiple dishes with mentaiko including Mentaiko Spaghetti, Mentaiko Cheese Gyoza and more. Prices start at $58++ per person for lunch only on Saturdays between 11am to 3pm, after 5:30pm, and from Mondays to Fridays, after 6pm.

17. Gyu-Kaku


Another popular pick for many to satisfy their Japanese BBQ cravings is Gyu-Kaku, which has 11 outlets islandwide. Gyu-Kaku offers three different buffet options, boasting over 70 items on the menu: Australian Wagyu Buffet ($74.80++), Japanese Wagyu Buffet ($94.80++), and Japanese Wagyu Cross Buffet ($87.80++). Each option treats you to unlimited marbled cuts of beef, featuring five, eight, and 12 different beef cuts respectively. Besides the assortment of meat, you’ll also find appetisers such as Spicy Cold Tofu, vegetables, and seafood.

18. Shaburi And Kintan Buffet


Westies can head over to Shaburi And Kintan Buffet in JEM for their all-you-can-eat Japanese yakiniku buffet. The Regular Buffet is priced at $32.80++ for lunch on weekdays, and $43.80++ for dinner on weekdays and all day on weekends. For the price, you get 17 different items to pick from, including shabu shabu beef air-flown from Australia and the US, as well as pork shoulder and belly from the Netherlands. Also on the menu are hot dishes such as Beef Nika Udon, Tonkotsu Ramen, Bibimbap and more, to round off the meal. If you’re feeling more bougie, go for the Kintan Buffet ($39.80++), which includes Angus Beef Sukiyaki and Harami Steak, or the Premium Wagyu Buffet (from $59.80++), featuring options such as Iberico Pork Collar and Truffle Wagyu Karubi.

19. Kumo Japanese Buffet

Kumo Japanese Buffet in Queenstown is always crowded, and for good reason. They’ve got an a la carte buffet, priced at $53++ per person, which entitles you to an assortment of unlimited sushi, thick-cut sashimi, hot dishes spanning tempura to curry udon, and even Japanese porridge! Prices are the same no matter lunch or dinner. Just be sure to make reservations ahead of time, as the restaurant is often at full capacity.

20. Yakiniku-Oh


Conveniently located in Cuppage Plaza at Somerset is Yakiniku-Oh where you can enjoy A4 Wagyu BBQ Buffet for $67++ per person. Savour a wide selection of beef, pork, and chicken varieties with highlights including Beef Tongue, Kurobuta Pork Loin, and Wagyu Special Kalbi. If you’d like some drinks to accompany your meal, you can opt for a combo which includes items from the A4 Wagyu BBQ Buffet and free-flow drinks at $80++ per person. Note that dining times are limited to 60 minutes.

21. Yuiitsu

Here at Yuiitsu, you can get unlimited A5 Wagyu Beef for $79.80+. This premium set includes unlimited starters, items from the Fried & Grill Bar, mushimono, don, noodle dishes, beef, pork and more. Pair your meats with their crispy ebi tempura, edamame, curry udon, and garlic fried rice too. 

They also have the more affordable Deluxe Buffet at $59.90++ which includes everything on the menu except the Takasaki Wagyu Beef, and the Standard Buffet at $39.80++, which includes chicken and pork cuts. Do note that their buffets are limited to a 90-minute dining time.
