Joy Luck Teahouse At Bugis

Avid fans of Joy Luck Teahouse will know that the store is best known for their egg tarts, pineapple buns, and milk tea. Joining these popular items is their Hong Kong-style Chee Cheong Fun, which will only be available at their new Bugis Junction outlet. Look out for silky sheets of rice noodle drenched with sweet sauce and topped with sesame seeds for extra crunch and nuttiness.

If you’re new to Joy Luck Teahouse, their egg tarts hail from Hoover Cake Shop, which is wildly popular in Hong Kong. Choose between the sweet shortbread-crust Hoover Egg Tart with Cookie Skin ($2.30) and the crispy puff pastry-crust Hoover Egg Tart with Pastry Skin ($2.30). Either way, you’ll get to enjoy your egg tart with the same creamy and smooth custard filling.

Also a must is their pineapple buns which come from Kam Kee Cafe, a popular cha chaan teng in Hong Kong. The freshly baked Kam Kee Pineapple Bun Butter ($2.80) stars creamy butter encased in a fluffy, warm bun and finished off with a caramelised, crumbly shell.

In lieu of their opening, Joy Luck Teahouse will be offering 10% off their chee cheong fun with a minimum spending of $10. It’s also worth noting that this deal will only be valid for walk-in customers from 2 October to 4 October 2020. Otherwise, get 10% off their regular items with a minimum spending of $10 up till 31 October 2020 if you sign up as a member.

Customers of the store who are 60 years old and above can also get 50% off their Hong Kong-style Milk Tea and 8 Treasures Tea. Simply flash your Merdeka or Pioneer Generation cards to enjoy this discount.

For other new openings, also check out Shake Shack’s new Suntec outlet which opens today. Otherwise, look out for Five Guys’ new outlet set to open in NEX early next year.
