Katong and East Coast folks, you’re in luck: there’s a hot new cafe in your hood worth checking out! June Coffee, run by the same folks behind September Coffee, is a new coffee and brunch spot in the Katong neighbourhood serving thick brioche toast, layered lattes and more.

The new cafe is located along East Coast Road, a 10-minute bus ride from Mountbatten MRT Station. The interiors sport a cosy and homely aesthetic with dark wood furnishings and raw elements, complemented by pops of greenery for a touch of warmth. To finish the look, there’s a glass panel wall feature on one end that brings in some natural lighting.

Their Original French Toast ($12++) features a thick slice of brioche drenched in an eggy mixture, pan-fried, then served alongside honey and butter.

For something more special, go for their Honey, Lemon & Ricotta French Toast ($17++), a zhnged-up version that stars whipped ricotta infused with lemon and thyme, then finished with crunchy pecans.

If you prefer something savoury for brunch, opt for their Truffle Mushroom Pappardelle ($19++), a vegetarian-friendly dish comprising fresh pasta with three types of mushrooms: shimeiji, shiitake, and oyster.

Otherwise, their Beef Tenderloin Croffle ($24++) is an interesting pick, featuring savoury beef slices atop a freshly baked croffle, pickled onions, and spicy mayo.

For drinks, June Coffee offers a nice selection of matcha options, from the classic Matcha Latte ($6++) to Blueberry Matcha Latte ($8++). There’s even a Kinako Matcha ($8++) beverage that sees layers of matcha, fresh milk, kinako, and sea salt foam!

If you’re not a matcha fan, consider their Black Sesame Latte ($8++), which comes with dairy-free sesame cream, espresso, and fresh milk.
