If your idea of a divine buffet experience consists of fresh sushi, thick slices of sashimi, and deep-fried tempura, Kushi Japanese Dining at Grantral Mall has it all! Located just a six-minute walk from Taiseng MRT Station, this restaurant has an all-you-can-eat Japanese buffet for just $54.90++.Â
Their a la carte buffet prices start from $54.90++ per person for lunch, and $58.90++ for dinner. Do note that there is a 90-minute dining limit for the former and a 120-minute for the latter.Â
Begin your feast with a range of appetisers such as chawanmushi and edamame. Next, move on to the sashimi, highly raved about for its freshness and thickness! Load up on a good variety of tuna, salmon, octopus, squid, yellowtail, and swordfish.Â
If sushi is more your thing, they also have a decent selection here including ebi, maguro, tako, salmon mayonnaise inari, ebiko, and kani, among others. Don’t forget to order their makimono AKA sushi roll and temaki AKA hand roll. You can get varieties of tuna, salmon, ebi tempura and more.Â
A good Japanese meal is not complete without sides, featuring agemono AKA deep-fried items, as well as yakimono and kushiyaki, which refer to grilled meats and veggies.
Hot picks for the fried section include the pumpkin croquette, tori karaage, and tako yaki.Â
And as for the grilled fare, the surume ika (grilled squid) and saba shioyaki (grilled mackerel) are said to be must-orders! Both dishes boast an excellent smoky-charred flavour, which further elevates the fresh flavours of seafood.Â
Lastly, don’t forget to further substantiate your meal with carbs such as their garlic fried rice and mini ramen. The buffet also comes with free-flow hot and cold green tea, alongside complimentary ice cream to end your meal on a sweet note.
