Labrador Park Food Guide: 12 Places For Live Seafood BBQ Buffet, Katsu Sandwiches And More

Labrador Park food

The Labrador Nature Reserve is not all there is to Labrador Park, though its stunning greenery and heritage exhibits are definitely worth exploring. Labrador Park also has malls and office districts, with a plethora of food options available. For where to dine in the area, read our list of 12 Labrador Park food places for live seafood BBQ, Japanese katsu sandwiches, and more.

1. The Three Peacocks

Located within the Labrador Nature Reserve is The Three Peacocks, Singapore’s largest outdoor buffet. Their BBQ and hotpot buffets go at $56 per person, with an additional surcharge of $5 on weekends. These come with free-flow Australian wagyu beef, marinated meats, and live seafood. Top up $22 per person to enjoy both the BBQ and hotpot options. Otherwise, if you’re feeling generous, get their premium buffet for $108 per person. It comes with unlimited A4 wagyu and Boston lobsters that make the price worth it.

To get here, you can take the shuttle bus from Labrador Park MRT Station Exit A. Reservations via their website are also highly recommended.

Office-going folk in Alexandra Technopark may be familiar with Sando, where you can find Japanese sandwiches, rice bowls, light bites, and more. Their Pork Katsu ($10) sando is a must, with tonkatsu, confit onions, and greens sandwiched between freshly-baked shokupan. If you’re feeling like something light, get the Tamago ($5) sando, which sees fluffy omelette nestled between shokupan, topped with kombu mayo and bonito flakes.

Yet another restaurant within the nature reserve, Tamarind Hill is a fine-dining Southeast Asian restaurant set in a gorgeous colonial-style building, with high ceilings and posh chandeliers that make for good date material. With over 100 Thai and Burmese-inspired creations, you’ll be awed by how the chefs elevate these cuisines as we know it. Apart from their lunch sets and dinner menus, Tamarind Hill also has Thai Afternoon Tea ($35++ per person) where you can enjoy chicken skewers, mango sticky rice, and more, alongside free-flow coffee and tea. Do note that this is only available daily from 3pm to 6pm.

A ten-minute walk from Labrador Park MRT Station and we have another garden cafe, Canopy HortPark. Be transported to a Balinese resort, where the ceiling hangs with greenery and cane lanterns. What’s more, this gorgeous restaurant is pet-friendly!

Treat yourself to the Cold Angel Hair Pasta ($42++), which is dressed in white truffle oil and a truffle-butter sauce, then topped with sashimi scallops and pearls of ikura for extra indulgence. If not, the Rosemary Chicken ($25++) makes for a satisfying main, with a delicious rosemary garlic sauce that complements the protein.

5. Creamier Gillman Barracks

Creamier is a long-time player in Singapore’s saturated ice cream scene, and for good reason. Here, a single scoop starts at $3.80, though you’ll have to top up $1 for premium flavours. My personal favourites are the Sea Salt Gula Melaka and Mango Passionfruit Sorbet, which I always stack on the signature Waffles ($6). What’s more, you can browse through the galleries at Gillman Barracks, after you’re done with dessert.

Treat yourself to their Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen With All Topping ($16.90++). This bowl of ramen stars a creamy garlic tonkotsu broth, and brims over with ingredients like chashu, pork belly, and an ajitsuke egg. Their charcoal-grilled skewers also make for great sides, including a melt-in-your-mouth Pork Cheek ($3.80++) and juicy Chicken Thigh ($2.60++). For something more affordable, they also have a plain Tonkotsu Ramen for $11.90++.

Their XO Sticky Back Ribs ($25+) come highly recommended, with spice-rubbed meat that falls off the bone. If you’re here with a group, consider their sharing plates, including Wagyu Beef Balls ($13+) that are served with veal jus, and Razor Clams ($15+) which are grilled Asian style.

Their Basic Burger (from $25++) features a patty made from Aberdeen Angus and A4 Wagyu beef. It’s then topped with more wagyu fats, a house-made shio kombu mayo sauce, and buns from Bakery Brera.

If meat is not your thing, try their Blue Cod Fillet Burger (from $21++), which sees a deep-fried New Zealand blue cod fillet, with smashed avocado and chopped pickles. What’s more, all their burgers are served with truffle fries, making for a complete meal.

Round up your colleagues for a drink after work.
