Bento cakes rose to fame during the pandemic, when many of us were relying on cake delivery services to send some cheer to our friends in lockdown. Since then, there have been more home-based bakeries in Singapore coming up with their own renditions of frosted cakes packaged in cute takeout boxes. Adding to this list is Lemon Vanilla, a bakery in Novena that claims to offer one of the cheapest bento cakes in the country!

You can either choose from the designs they already have, or customise according to your needs and liking. If you want to opt for the latter, place your order two days in advance! For the cake base, you can choose between vanilla and chocolate. In terms of their cream flavours, pick from vanilla, chocolate, and cookies and cream. Each customised bento cake costs $19.90!

For the fickle-minded, we recommend browsing through their website as there are more than 20 designs for you to choose from. There’s also the popular Vintage Bento Cake ($19.90), which features retro-style piping with vibrant colours. You can include a message for a personalised touch!

Besides birthday cakes, you can place an order for special occasions and milestones such as weddings, graduations, and anniversaries. FYI, self-collection is available at the bakery, which is a seven-minute bus ride or a 12-minute walk from Novena MRT Station!
