McDonald’s Celebrates National Day With New Har Cheong Gai Burger, Drumlets, and Curry Burger

McDonald’s har cheong gai burger and more

As soon as McDonald’s rolls out any uniquely Singaporean-flavoured burger or dessert, we are launched into a crazed frenzy. So you can imagine how excited we were when we found out that McDonald’s presents two new burgers for National Day – Ha Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burger and Breakfast Curry Burger.

Available islandwide, we tried the har cheong gai burger, and all I can say is I’m team Ha Ha Cheong Gai. Personally, the combination of flavours worked better than last year’s Nasi Lemak Burger. This reinvention of the zi char classic tasted like a mod-Sin dish you would get in a cafe. Get the burger from $6.05 a la carte, or from $7.80 with fries and coke.

You can also top up $0.70 to upgrade your regular fries to their fancy schmancy Criss Cut Fries.

The Ha Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Drumlets is McDonald’s second draw. Going for $2.20 for two pieces, these little devils were the star of the show. The salty, flavourful punches of umamilicious juices were extremely morish and kept me going back for more.

The Breakfast Curry Burger is a new reason to wake up early, especially since McGriddles is long gone. Early birds can look forward to a tender chicken patty layered with McDonald’s popular Curry Sauce, melted cheese, and an egg. It comes with coffee or tea from $4.20, or as a set from $5.50. Do note that the Breakfast Curry Burger will only be available during breakfast hours at all outlets except LIDO and Singapore Science Centre.

As an added bonus, the Kueh Salat Cake (from $5.20) will also be making a comeback at all McCafe outlets.

Nasi Lemak Burger was sold out in two weeks; McGriddles’ disappearance sparked a widespread outrage; and the Durian McFlurry created queues at dessert kiosks islandwide. While this limited-edition items are new on the menu, we daresay you best join the hype with Singapore pride before all the burgers get snapped up.

This was a media tasting at McDonald’s.
