The pistachio craze around the world shows no signs of slowing down, with viral treats such as Dubai pistachio chocolate and pistachio tiramisu taking over cafes and home-based businesses in Singapore over the past few months. Now, McDonald’s Singapore is the latest to hop on the bandwagon, unveiling its own spin on the trend with its series of pistachio ice cream desserts launching on 28 May.
You may already be familiar with the rich, earthy flavour that comes with anything pistachio, and now you can enjoy that same taste in some of McDonald’s cult-favourite desserts. This includes the Pistachio Cone, Pistachio Oreo McFlurry, and Pistachio Hot Fudge Sundae (Price TBD), adding a whole new dimension to the ongoing pistachio craze.
Front and centre of the series is the Pistachio Cone, which elevates McDonald’s classic soft serve with a creamy pistachio twist. Fans can expect that vibrant green hue and familiar nutty profile, likely delivering a lighter, more accessible take on the popular flavour.
For that extra textural satisfaction, you can go for the indulgent Pistachio Oreo McFlurry, which pairs the creamy pistachio soft serve with Oreo pieces that bring a chocolatey crunch and subtle hints of cocoa bitterness to complement the sweetness, resulting in an extra creamy dessert.
Another attractive option is the Pistachio Hot Fudge Sundae, starring a decadent combination of pistachio soft serve and luscious chocolate fudge sauce for a rich and velvety treat that will leave you craving more.
While the ice cream has already been announced on McDonald’s official social media pages, only the launch date has been confirmed, with prices yet to be revealed. We recommend keeping a close eye on their socials, or better yet, heading down to your nearest McDonald’s from 28 May to get a first taste of the pistachio series. Since the items will likely only be available for a limited time, you’ll want to grab them before they’re gone!
