Meadowbrew is an under-HDB cafe in Ang Mo Kio

These days, cafes are no longer about fancy ambience and central locations. They can now be found at a stranger’s humble abode in the form of a home-based cafe, as well as under a HDB tucked away in the corner of a void deck. Meadowbrew in Ang Mo Kio is a great example of the latter, where you can chill with drinks priced under $6.50!

Their drink menu is pretty extensive with more than 20 items to choose from. There’s the classic iced Cold Brew ($6) and hot White ($5) for coffee lovers, along with non-caffeinated options such as the lesser-seen Chai-cf ($6), which is essentially an iced chai cold foam, and even a Puppuccino ($2) for our furry friends. We recommend getting their popular Chewy Peanut Chocolate Cookie ($3) to munch on while sipping your drinks!

This one’s for matcha lovers: you can either get a hot or iced cup of Matcha for $5.50 and $6.50 respectively, or the sweet-tangy Strawberry Matcha ($6.50) that’s all the craze lately.

If you’re dropping by for breakfast or a quick midday snack, get a muffin, puff, or wrap to fill yourself up. There’s the Pain Au Chocolait ($3.90) and Blueberry Muffin ($3.90) to have on the go, or the heartier Chicken Sausage Puff ($4.90) and Beef Bulgogi Wrap ($5.90) too!

Though cosy and compact, Meadowbrew has chairs and tables for you and your friends to take the day slow with a cuppa joe. The space is not air-conditioned, but it’s a well-ventilated, sheltered spot. FYI, you have to take a bus from Ang Mo Kio MRT Station to get there.
