Earlier this year, the popular Middle Road Pork Ribs Prawn Mee seemed to be closed for good. Fans of the stall along Sam Leong Road were devastated that they could no longer get hae mee from their usual haunt. We have good news for those fans: the stall is set to reopen this September in a new location: a Kim San Leng coffeeshop in Pek Kio!

Middle Road Pork Rib Prawn Mee was considered one of the more unique prawn noodle places around. True to its name, the prawn-based broth is cooked with pork ribs, giving it a significantly meatier flavour.

But it’s not just the soup that’s been pork-ified. Their famous Mixed Pork Noodle comes loaded with pork offal, including pork intestine, liver, and even skin. This is, of course, in addition to the prawns and pork ribs in the bowl.

Fans have praised the fresh offal and generous portions, while others have argued that all the focus on pork diminishes the prawn aspect of the dish. Regardless of where you stand on the debate, though, many will agree that the stall is a great addition to the Pek Kio area. Keep an eye on their Instagram page for updates on the opening later this month!
