I was first introduced to crepes while roaming the streets in Paris. Every few metres I’d see a crepe stand, and every day I’d order a chocolate crepe, somehow never getting sick of the paper thin pancakes slathered in chocolate sauce.
It was much later that I discovered mille crepes and realised that 20 layers of crepe sandwiching layers of cream is always better than just a single layer. Thanks to people who think the same, plenty of great mille crepe cake shops have popped up around our little island, so here’s a list of 10 different types of mille crepe cakes you can find in Singapore!

This colourful layered cake comes with an alternation between dark chocolate and vanilla cream, and is finished with a generous drizzle of chocolate sauce.

Vanilla Mille Crepe ($9 per slice) topped with fresh fruits might sound simple, but it’s highly satisfying. Henri Charpentier layers ten soft and fluffy crepes with sweet custard cream, before adding fruits, a sweet glaze, and some fresh cream. It’s also plated with berry coulis, adding some tartness to prevent the mille crepe from being too sweet.
