This Kueh Shop In Hougang Has Been Around Since 1971, Most Items Under $1 Each

Molly’s Nyonya Kueh in Hougang

Singaporeans love eating kueh, but it’s becoming increasingly less common to find ones that are still handmade the traditional way. We recently discovered a hidden traditional Nyonya kueh stall in Hougang━Molly’s━which has been around since 1971!

Molly’s, named after the store owner, started off as a small roadside stall by a husband and wife duo, and was initially famous for their otah. Today, the couple’s son and daughter have taken over their business. The store is well-known for selling a variety of delicious kueh with an assortment of fillings.

Their Fish Otah that kickstarted their business is bundled in a pack of 10 for $4.50 or sold separately for $0.50 each. Both spicy and non-spicy otah are available.

Another popular item is their Ondeh-Ondeh, priced at $2 for six pieces. Each soft, pandan-flavoured ondeh ondeh ball is filled with a generous amount of molten gula melaka.

They also have a wide array of old-school, steamed layered kueh to choose from, including the traditional Rainbow Kueh Lapis and the flavourful Pandan Glutinous Rice Kueh. These are priced at $3 for five pieces and $5.50 for 10.

This confectionery is not one to be missed if you’re a traditional kueh fan. With the wide range of kueh for you to choose from, there is definitely something for everyone!
