Na Na Curry In Bukit Merah

Homegrown brand Na Na Curry has just retained their Michelin Bib Gourmand Award for the fifth year in a row, so those craving a bowl of their famous curry can head down for some spicy goodness. The family-run stall, which first opened in 1989, has amassed a big following since its early days at Marina South.

Dubbed by some as the “Marina South Curry” even till today, Na Na Curry has since relocated and opened eight outlets across Singapore, including one at Bukit Merah View Hawker Centre.

A trip to Na Na Curry is not complete without trying the Curry Fish Head ($35 whole, $25 half). The bright orange curry leans towards the spicy side with a strong assam flavour that is soaked up by bits of tau pok, lady’s finger, and yam.

Those who aren’t a fan of fish can try the Curry Chicken ($4.90) or Curry Chicken Drum Stick ($5.50). Online reviews rave about the chicken’s moist and tender texture, and how it falls off the bone thanks to many hours of slow cooking.

If you prefer stronger flavours, order the Curry Mutton ($6.50), said to be the stall’s spiciest dish. There is also the Pork Ribs Curry ($4), which is a thicker and richer rendition of the previous curries mentioned.

For something lighter, get the Curry Vegetables, ($4.40) filled with slow-cooked cabbage, long beans, and tau pok. This is supposedly the least spicy dish, and you can enjoy it with rice or bread for an additional $1 and $1.10 respectively.
