Michelin-Starred Nakiryu Opens At VivoCity With Exclusive Cappuccino Miso Ramen

Nakiryu opens in VivoCity with outlet-exclusive ramen

Following the launch of their first overseas outlet at Plaza Singapura earlier this January, Nakiryu has now unveiled their second location on the first floor of VivoCity.

Nakiryu’s signature item, the Tan Tan Men ($15.90++), is a Sichuan-inspired ramen dish comprising dan dan noodles soaked in a meaty broth and topped with chilli oil, house-made sesame paste, and stir-fried minced pork.

In Tokyo, the dish is so popular that it garnered snaking queues outside Nakiryu’s tiny 10-seater establishment. Their famous Tan Tan Men also earned them a Michelin star in 2017, which the brand has held on to till this day.

For those craving additional protein, you can top up $3++ for additional Cha Shu slices or $1.50++ for a Half Boiled Egg.

Apart from their iconic dish, Nakiryu’s VivoCity menu features a range of new items, including  Cappuccino Miso Tan Tan Men ($14.90++) and Egg Toji Hot and Sour Soup Ramen ($16.90++). These bowls of ramen were created by the brand’s founder, Chef Kazumasa Saito, specifically for this VivoCity outlet.

While the Cappuccino Miso Tan Tan Men is a nutty, creamier rendition of their signature Tan Tan Men, the Egg Toji Hot and Sour Soup Ramen showcases Chef Saito’s expertise in Chinese cuisine, where another classic Sichuanese dish, hot and sour soup, is combined with Japanese-style scrambled eggs and ramen.

For an additional $4.90++, get your choice of one side and a drink with your bowl of ramen. We recommend the Fried Chicken, featuring chunky chicken pieces coated with crispy rice puffs.

If you’re craving more ramen dishes with a twist, check out Menya Kokoro and their new, limited-edition ‘Super’ Ebi Mazesoba, a prawn ramen inspired by hei mee. Otherwise, head over to A Noodle Story for Michelin-approved Singaporean-style ramen!
