10 New Restaurants In March 2025—Michelin-Approved Churros, XL Katsu Don And More

Best new restaurants for March 2025

In the blink of an eye, January and February have passed, and we’re now into the third month of the year. From solo hotpot by a famous Taiwanese chef to XL Japanese donburi bowls at Fortune Centre, here’s our list of the best restaurants in Singapore for March 2025.

1. Bon Broth

New in: the renowned Chef André Chiang has opened Bon Broth, his first hotpot restaurant in Singapore! The new Raffles City restaurant, headed by the multi-award-winning Taiwanese chef, specialises in individual hotpot with two sets available: Deluxe ($110++) and Premium ($138++). Both sets come with six seafood items, three meats, an assortment of fresh vegetables, and a small platter with Fish DumplingHandmade Shrimp Paste, and Braised Beef “Three Treasures”.

There are eight broths to choose from, namely SauerkrautSichuan Green Pepper (AKA Signature), HerbalSatay (Sha Cha), Suki, Hokkaido, Laksa, and Mala. The restaurant incorporates French techniques to cook their broths; a mirepoix base is sauteed on low heat before it is infused with Chef André’s signature spice paste, and then deglazed with a French-style bouillon that’s prepared fresh daily. The result is a rich and flavourful soup, even from the first sip.

2. Cavern Restaurant

Cavern Restaurant, set within Rainforest Wild Asia, boasts striking cave-like interiors inspired by Sarawak’s iconic Mulu caves. Officially opening on 12 March 2025, it is the first restaurant in the country to feature a “cave in a restaurant” concept.

Expect Western dishes such as Pulled Pork Taco ($22++), Rigatoni Alla Vodka ($22++), and Caveman’s Meat Skewer ($38++) to feature here. We recommend the Ironstrike Knuckle ($28++), a 500-gram pork knuckle said to be slow-braised for 12 hours in a blend of Chinese spices, dark soy sauce, five-spice powder, cardamom, and bay leaves, with mustard jus smothering it all.

3. Hello Arigato

Hello Arigato is the latest kid on the Tiong Bahru block. The new cafe offers a creative lineup of outlet-exclusive items, alongside old favourites, with IG-worthy interiors to boot.

Try the Veg Me Up Sando ($16.50++), a limited-time sandwich created in collaboration with local chef Bjorn Shen. This flavour-packed vegetarian sando features broccoli nanban, roasted shiitake mushrooms, pickled green apples, house-made tartar sauce, and togarashi slaw. Another must-try item is the outlet-exclusive CP Egg Sando ($15++), where crispy cai poh dashi omelette, velvety-soft over-easy egg, house-made hae bee hiam, and creamy kewpie mayo are sandwiched between two slices of Japanese milk bread.

4. Chia Puddies

In January 2025, Chia Puddies made its debut in Clarke Quay, bringing Singapore its first-ever chia pudding cafe. Known for its beautifully crafted, IG-worthy bowls, the cafe offers six pudding flavours, with small bowls starting at $10.50.

For matcha lovers, visit for The Matcha Bowl, which features matcha chia pudding topped with yoghurt, granola, coconut shavings, and strawberries. If you prefer something more classic, The Morning Glory comes with banana blueberry chia pudding, yoghurt, cookie butter, granola, and fresh banana and blueberries. The cafe also offers a range of chia smoothies at $9.80 each: think Banana Bliss Smoothie, Mango Banana Chia Smoothie and more.

5. Sakedokoro Eizaburo

If you’ve always dreamt of eating heaps of food without burning a hole in your wallet, you’re in luck—Sakedokoro Eizaburo is the latest hotspot for XL don in town. The establishment is the brainchild of Michelin-approved Shunsui group, serving up wallet-friendly sashimi, XL Japanese rice bowls and more.

Try their Mega Katsu Curry Rice ($22.40++) for thick Japanese curry paired with meaty cuts of katsu, half-boiled egg and Japanese rice. Our favourite, though, was the Premium Fujiyama Kaisen Don ($29.90++) as it came with a variety of seafood such as crab meat, diced salmon and seabass sashimi, negitoro, uni and more. For a more affordable alternative, get the Regular Fujiyama Kaisen Don ($16.90++), which includes similar ingredients but is served in a smaller bowl without uni.

Address: 190 Middle Road, #03-16, Fortune Centre, Singapore 188979

6. SOT Korean Restaurant

If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind Korean BBQ experience, visit SOT in Telok Ayer. The new restaurant specialises in K-BBQ cooked on a drum griddle, fashioned after the old-school Korean gamasot. Instead of the usual tabletop grill you find at other barbecue restaurants, your meat and other ingredients are thrown into a huge iron drum griddle.

Choose from the Beef BBQ Platter ($120++), Pork BBQ Platter ($90++), or for the more adventurous, the Large Intestine Platter ($120++). During our visit, we enjoyed the beef platter, which consisted of beef brisket, beef sirloin, and LA Galbi. We appreciated that we could sit back and relax throughout the meal, as the staff graciously cooked everything for us. Aside from the grilled meats, they also have several stews such as Jjim-Dak ($60++), a braised chicken stew, and Dak-doritang ($60++), a spicy version of the former. These hearty dishes, which are great for sharing, come packed with tender chicken, glass noodles, various veggies, rice cakes and more.

Address: 177 Telok Ayer Street, Singapore 068625

7. Yakiniku Gyubei

Yakiniku Gyubei, a famous BBQ chain from Japan, has opened in Singapore. Known for their “nose-to-tail” philosophy, this restaurant uses the whole animal in their cooking, so you can expect rarer cuts to feature in the Omakase Lunch Set for Two ($100++). This set gets you six cuts of meat from one Wagyu cow, as well as two sets of salad, a side dish, and rice. Alternatively, peruse their a la carte menu, which features 24 cuts of meat, sourced from cattle raised in and imported from Kyushu Prefecture.

If the omakase is too pricey for you, you can opt for more affordable lunch sets such as the Signature Gyubei Lunch ($33.90++). This set gets you three cuts of meat, namely Wagyu beef ribs, Akami beef, and the cut of the day, as well as salad, a side dish, rice, and soup.

Check out our Yakiniku Gyubei review.

8. Kowboy

For those on the food side of social media, you may have seen videos of “UFO” burgers causing quite a stir in Korea at the start of 2025. Good news: you can now get your hands on one at Kowboy, an eatery hidden along Bali Lane.

There are six burgers to choose from, all priced under $20. Our favourite was the UFO Supernova Mentaiko ($12.80), which came with a crispy katsu topped with juicy pineapple, melted cheese, and a drizzle of spicy cod roe mayo. Other popular picks include the UFO Cosmic Truffle ($12.80), where a 120g A5 Wagyu patty is paired with sauteed mushrooms, melted cheese, fresh tomatoes and lettuce, fragrant truffle oil, and house-made truffle mayo for a burst of umami.

9. CheongDamChae

CheongDamChae is not your regular Korean BBQ joint: this Telok Ayer restaurant offers an automated grill with rolling metal rods that cook your meats evenly. The rods move from left to right, ensure the meats are grilled without getting burnt. With the touch of a button, they’re also automatically replaced with a new set, so you can continue cooking almost instantly, without waiting for the staff to manually change the grill.

We recommend the Duloc Pork Belly ($32.80++), comprising 180g of fatty pork belly, which was buttery with a good chew. The Prime Rib ($52.80++), starring 150g of beef, was delicious too with its perfectly juicy and tender bite.

Beside Korean BBQ, you can fill up on a la carte mains on the menu too, including Spicy Soft Bean Curd Stew ($17.80++) and Prime Rib Hot Pot Rice ($34.80++): Korean beef sotbap served with a side of beef and radish soup.

10. Twist & Buckle

The Hong Kong-famous Twist & Buckle has landed on our shores! In case you didn’t know, the popular churros brand was listed in Hong Kong’s Michelin Guide for two consecutive years, from 2023 to 2024, as the island’s “favourite street food”. Their new kiosk, which is also their first international outpost, is located at Velocity @ Novena Square.

Purists can try their Original Mini ($2.50), which stars plain churros dusted with cinnamon sugar. Otherwise, choose from 10 churro flavours, including  Pistachio Crunch, Cookies and Cream, and Crunchy Matcha. Our favourite was the pistachio flavour, featuring creamy pistachio paste topped with pistachio bits. We found the churros crispy on outside, with an airy, fluffy middle.
