NOMSTAR: Tim Ho Wan, Tsuta, Hawker Chan And More Famous Eateries Open In New Punggol Food Court

Food courts give you the option of enjoying a diverse range of eats under one air-conditioned roof. NOMSTAR, a dining enclave located in Northshore Plaza II, levels up on the food court concept by offering fare that’s usually found in restaurants—with no GST or service charge!

The enclave houses five well-known Asian restaurants: Tim Ho Wan, Tsuta, Hawker Chan, Mrs Pho, and Thai Lae Dee. You can order dishes from any of these eateries and enjoy them in the same space, all while taking in the sights of the sea and the curiously prehistoric-themed interior.

NOMSTAR isn’t short of great noodle dishes. In the Japanese corner, we have the ramen from Tsuta. Their flagship restaurant in Japan is the world’s first Michelin-starred ramen eatery, and their four outlets in Singapore are said to offer dishes of a similar calibre. This one in particular offers the same dishes at more affordable prices—the Tonkotsu Soba, for instance, goes for only $8.80.

In the Vietnamese corner, we have the rice noodles from Mrs Pho. Get the Sliced Beef Pho ($9.90) to enjoy the dish’s aromatic broth, delicate noodles and tender beef slices.

Hawker Chan needs no introduction. While this NOMSTAR branch has the usual suspects such as the Soya Sauce Chicken Rice ($6.80), keep a lookout for a new addition: Duck Drumstick with Noodle ($8.80).

Spicy options are aplenty at Thai Lae Dee. This offshoot of Bangkok’s famous 24-hour restaurant chain Took Lae Dee offers piquant dishes such as the Minced Chicken with Chilli & Basil Leaves Rice ($6.80) and Tom Yum Seafood with Rice ($9.80).

While Tim Ho Wan’s award-winning dim sum are usually the main fixture, NOMSTAR’s concept lets you easily pair them with other dishes. One might not expect it, but dim sum such as the Baked BBQ Pork Buns ($8.60 for three) and Hong Kong Style Egg Tarts ($5.70 for two) go surprisingly well with the aforementioned ramen and pho dishes.
